Play store is not working. It was reinstalled by Gionee care but the problem occurred again within 10 days. I can't download or update any apps. It's very limited or no use of mobile then. It's true don't rely on Gionee phones and don't buy them.

Use the best custom roms to m2 for who facing hanging,playstore problems...
First install twrp or cwm or any custum recovery to m2 u need to root
Then backup your old stock rom and install new best custom rom...
For that u browse on google about "gionee m2 planet" or m2 custom roms there u will get info to help u to install custom rom and it has less bugs and faster than stock rom...k be caution to install rom because u may brick ur m2

Couple of queries.. Is Gionee M2 and Gionee Marathon M2 different ? What is the latest OS available on this device ? Is it stable ? Whats wrong with the playstore bug ? Does it still exist and if it does, what version of OS are you using ?
How is the battery after some months of usage ?

I have Gionee M2 . Really frustrating with its contact application getting hang every time and cant even see last calls or contacts to call . Will never recommend anyone .

I am an IT employee.
Worst Mobile Gionee. I bought Gionee S6 worth 20k. With in Two months Display has damaged inside and since there is no physical damage out side, Authorised center coudlnt allow to claim warranty. There is no warranty option in Gionee.
Recommend not to buy. Battery issues and display issues.

The worst phone ever. I feel cheated to buy this product. In less than a month my mobile has developed problem in the display. I have wasted 14900 rupees.
