why is everyone confused here about things. simple choice is if you want cdma smartphone go for it. i tell you why-
1. its the only dual sim phone which supports cdma as well as 4g on second sim slot because as i am using htc one e8 and i love my phone very much and its very good overall compare to gionee m5 but the sad part is every smartphone right now which support cdma dual sim has not support for 4g on second sim slot. even 3g is not supported you can only use 2g sim on second sim slot and thats really bad part of and cdma+gsm dual sim smartphone. so thats the part where gionee m5 shines out from the rest because you can use 4g sim gsm on both the slots and can use cdma sim on slot 1 and gsm sim on second slot with 2g/3g even 4g and thats really the best part of this smartphone.
so guys if you really want to take advantage of the cdma cheap plans as i am using relience truly unlimited plan on my htc one e8 then you have only one best option right now which is gionee marathon M5.
2. now come tosecond choice if you are not willing to use any cdma sim and will only use gsm sim then their is no point for going for the gionee m5.although it has good specs like 3gb ram, amoled display, 32 gb internal but very poor gpu and cpu if you want gaming then you will be not as happy as you can be from all other smartphones in this price range. because if u will use only gsm sims then there are lot more options available in this price range with same or better specification.
but again if you really want a smartphone with cdma facility then gionee marathon m5 is the only best option available right now with best specifcation you can imagine right now. because cdma smartphone are usually costly as compared to normal gsm smartphones and if you google you will find that this smartphone is not costly at all as for the cdma smartphone or i can easily say its best cdma phone right now available with best specification with just right pricing but cdma is not your concern then i agree with everyone here that you have lot of options in this price range.

M5 battery declared by company gives 28hrs of 3G talktime and Redmi note 4G gives 38hrs of 3G talktime. Now antutu of M5 is 28000 and same of Redmi note 4G is 33000. Wake up.

AnonD-465275, 29 Nov 2015too much confusion moto x play htc 826 oppo r 7 lite gionee marathom m5 lenovo vibe p1 ... moretill now i see moto x play to be a good option considering price & performance. Its very wisely placed in the indian market at this price range and additionally it gets future updates really fast. An added advantage is that moto models accessories are easily available in the market. I can easily find accessories for the first gen moto devices. No issues if you buy a moto device. Battery performs really well as per GSMarena- a good 26hrs of 3g calling.

Anonymous, 29 Nov 2015So,you bought 4 Gionee devices at the same time just so you can test how good they're..that's ... moredo you have the courage to compare this gionee M5 with moto X Play-you will be surprised by the battery performance of Moto x Play. And if performance is top priority, then i do not see anyone above Samsung galaxy note 3-available at very cheap rates now-a true multi tasker in your hands.

AnonD-218270, 29 Nov 2015where did i say i tested them, LOLdo you watch videos on youtube, then check benchmark performance f this Gone-gionee device-HAHA...a super low 27000 on antutu and again a super low on Vellamo metal-1440.
You you compare this with big hit Moto G (2gb ram), because at same performace or even better you need to shell out 12K only, with a promised Android marshmallow updates. or in case if you know about very hot Xiaomi Mi4-at 15 K you get 45000 on antutu-WOW. and battery-well i say carry a 130 gram phone with awesome spec and a 100 gram of battery bank than carrying a 212gram of android brick. And then market is flooded with all sort of accesories for these devices. Also, i did mention in one of my earlier posts that none out of 4 gionee devices ever went to service centre-this is the only plus point i remember. i still wish that gionee launched this device with a much heavier hardware installed inside -rather than ALL YO AND No GO!! thing.
