Apple iOS 7 - definition

iOS 7.0

iOS 7 was introduced during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference on June 10, 2013 and was released to the public on September 18, 2013.

With it came a substantial redesign credited to Apple's Jony Ive. The brighter design and addition of system-wide animations wasn't universally loved by everyone. Changes were quickly introduced to provide users with a few options to reduce the animations.

Camera improvements

  • • Swipe through different camera modes – video, still photo, square aspect, and panorama
  • • Real-time photo filters with iPhone 4S or later, and iPod touch (5th generation)

  • • iCloud Photo Sharing supports multiple contributors and videos, plus a new Activity view

Find My iPhone Activation Lock

  • • Turning off Find My iPhone, erasing your device, reactivation, and signing out of iCloud requires your Apple ID password
