I'm a basic user. Could care less about all the bells and whistles. It's just a phone and my 6 year old Pixel 2XL I purchased used from eBay in 2021 for $143 does what a phone should do and I'm still loving it. It's my daily driver , but just now beginning to think about buying a new one. Battery life is awesome still even on heavy usage days. Display is great indoors. Not as good in bright sunlight, but so what. I'm hardly if ever outside in sunlight trying to read my phone's display. I've dropped it countless times and it only has a hairline crack. I don't use it for meaningful must keep pictures. I have a real camera for that . I don't use the finger print scanner nor will I on the newer device. I'm a music buff so the dynamic duo front facing speakers are what I'll miss the most when I have to get another one. I'll definitely keep this one just to listen to the universal language.
Had my phone (refurbished) yesterday and I'm quite satisfied with it....but there's a lot to say about it
Pros: Superb display, realistic, detailed & smooth camera/video recording, lighter and handyful, smooth UI & OS even on Android 8, 4gb ram with 8gb ram's performance,ear-tickling stereo speakers,
Cons: why no headphone jack?, unimpressive sound quality when using USBC 3.5mm jack converter, battery life could be better, camera UI and features won't satisfy most social media users, storage could be expandable despite 128gb built-in rom, rear design including camera and flashlight could look flashier like it's front appearance
If I ever won the lottery, I would build an updated phone that looks like this 🐼
Is the speaker still worth it?
My pixel 5a is dead. I'm looking secondary phone as multimedia purpose.
Not bad for a secondary phone
Anonymous, 07 Jul 2023Had it for less than a year. Had it for less than a year. A very average phone with tons of unnecessary hype, which, to me, seems to be what the entire Pixel line has been (besides countless failures and flaws that the fans try to cover up). I originally got the Pixel 2, which I don't recall fully unboxing. I think I took about minute or two of looking at that extortionary hideous bezel and I had it back in the box. This phone was nothing more than average. The camera was average, still not close to the 5X's camera. The antenna was barely average, I doubt it was as good as the current iPhones back then. I can't recall any particular issues with calling or SMS but I know it barely kept a good signal. The battery life was marginal, but that was common back then. Just very, very bleh. Like a good Chinese generic. Just barely got the job done, and I don't miss it.
jawad-derwy, 03 May 2023No it is not possible because it's ram is low and doesn't support Android 12 and And... moreThis was kinda my concern at first but I installed lineage os 20 anyways and I use mine daily and I never ran out of ram. I used to own an xperia 10ii and that thing was laggy since day 1.(i guess that’s why most midrange phone in 2020 has 6gb ram instead of 4)I later found out that while the pixel 2 also uses lpddr4x memory, the snapdragon 835 uses a faster memory bus and therefore has faster megatransfers. So overall the 4gb is just enough. I have my phone’s location, bluetooth, and many other apps running in the background by default and still have >1.5gb of ram left. And no matter how many apps I open and use it always have a reserved of around 900mb.
Quaku Quansah , 29 Apr 2023Pls is it advisable to install android 13 using PC onto my pixel 2XL Kinda? i run lineage os 20 on my pixel 2 non xl and it has been great, no issues, and surprisingly no lag, and yes I daily it. Only some apps will not work like netflix and google pay(and no I did not apply root )

It's damn bonkers that someone managed to have maintainer status for Project Elixir for the Pixel 2 series
I forgot my password, how can I access my phone?
