This is my current phone and I can say that I'm happy with the decision I made to buy this phone. I only play low to mid-range games, browse, and watch videos on this phone so I have no problems with this phone. Battery life is great (on Android 11 for my case) and camera quality is outstanding. Unfortunately for those on Android 11 on this phone, DO NOT upgrade to Android 12 at the moment as upgrading can sometimes reduce the battery life due to Android 12's power-hungry nature. Plus, Google has yet to fix this issue so I advise not to take the risk and stay on Android 11.

I just got this phone. One of the reasons I bought it was for the supposed good battery life.
I'm coming from a Huawei Mate 10 and before that a Mate 9. Both had EXCELLENT battery life, although the batteries have deteriorated (Mate 10 is 3 years old, can still hold a charge for a day of moderate use). Both are rated lower that the 3a XL on GSMArena's Battery Life Test.
I'm lucky if the 3a XL lasts a full day without an afternoon boost. There is no way it would come close to lasting as long as either of my old Huawei phones.

Its... moreI'd agree to what you Postulated, taking it from someone who was once an iOS fan and currently uses the Pixel 3a XL. Nevertheless, the only tho I do not like about my Pixel 3a XL Is the fact that it overheats easily. It happened occasionally during my iPhone 8plus days (don't know if I'd attribute it to the fast processor) but I just wish the phone had some sort of heat sink to dissipate off the heat quickly 'cause it's a shortened battery life this whole thing would later cost. Asides just this tho, I sincerely love every detail (ranging from the hardware to software) of my Pixel 3a XL. Also I personally don't like the headphone jack.

anyone else experience overheating and performance issues after latest software updates? some apps like gmail and LINE can't be used anymore. the apps force close themselves and another app is opened. what should i do?

just 5 months, Feb 2021 when made the last update not recognize mi sim card, then mic and low speakers not working and march 2021 the charge port sometimes work well and other dont work. my personal experiencie not recommended sept 2021 to march 2021 pixel 3AXL RIP

This phone has been an absolute beast. I was reluctant to try a Pixel phone, but Google has turned me into a fan. It just makes life easier having a pixel. My only complaint is that the SD670 is not a stellar chip. A slightly stronger chip would have been nice like an SD710. The thick chin and forehead are even advantageous when gaming. It gives me some extra material to grab and play. I'm very impressed. Also, the plastic build is forgiving for those of us with small children.
