Who wants a brick? Phones are getting way too big for me. Most are small tablets, thank gosh Google still makes something smaller like the Pixel 3, and apparently the Pixel 4. That said the 4 is growing as well. Full feature and usable size is becoming hard to find.
why does google insist on making their phones so small...5 inch in 2019 imagine LOL
the owner of google play...who is the heart of android phones
use horrible battery
2800mah...2019... Forget it !
Syn, 05 Oct 2019Don't be fooled by screen diagonal. Original Pixel with it's 5.5 inch screen had a 16:9 aspect... moreYou're right of course. Was just an attempt to compare in the absence of the dimensions for the P4, which is likely to be around the same size as the original P1 XL +/- 5%.
With all the extra internals and functionality, maybe its not "fair" to compare the phone batteries.
Except its 2019 and its absolutely fair to compare. Battery tech has moved forward, software has moved forward, and somehow every other manufacturer has moved forward!
Not aimed at you 7j. Google have just seriously annoyed me and seemingly a lot of people with this one! I already feel like the phone made too many sacrifices (no 5G, no fingerprint, 855 process, 'average' internals, cartoonish design, etc). But the battery is just one sacrifice too many, esp when they are well aware of below average battery of previous devices versus the market.
A quick scan on GSMArenas battery life table virtually guarantees there being a struggle for this phone to make it through an average day dawn til dusk, let alone a full 24hrs.
And let's not forget, this is one of the richest companies in the world. A technology company no less. One that more than likely has a battery research division. Its pathetic!
This is not a cheap Nexus device with a price point that -let's be honest - would make people a lot more comfortable with the sacrifices. This is a premium Pixel device, which is their to showcase (and test) the amalgamation of all their software and hardware progress (and prowess). Apparently that doesn't stretch to batteries.
Maybe they should buy Tesla?
Steve, 04 Oct 2019Here's a thought... The Pixel 4 has a 5.7" screen with 2,800mah battery. The original Pi... moreDon't be fooled by screen diagonal. Original Pixel with it's 5.5 inch screen had a 16:9 aspect ratio. This one with 5.7 inch screen is a 18:9 or 19:9. So in reality the screen area of this 5.7 inch screen is closer to a 5.2 inch phone of 16:9 than the 5.5 inch 16:9 phones.
Google must be high to design phone in 2019 with 2880 Mah Battery, that screen is big, but tiny battery
2,800 mAh, a 2k screen res (which by the way you won't be able to lower to 1080p),and a freaking 90Hz Display.
Lmao no thanks.
Even cheaper phones, such as those of Samsung and Xiaomi below 300 USD$ have more battery capacity, not only more than Pixel 4XL, but even more than the XL version.
Google, please fix your sh.t, just like Linus said.
Battery capacity not nice.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2019Greetings sheeple Google revealed its Pixel 4 design before Apple didAgain, we don't know how long Apple had their design planned. It's possible that Apple copied Google, but until we know for sure (probably never), the most valid assumption is that both Apple and Google had this design planned from the start.
EZ.KATKA, 04 Oct 20192800mAh? really? who would buy this now a days...Here's a thought...
The Pixel 4 has a 5.7" screen with 2,800mah battery.
The original Pixel XL (XL!!) had a smaller 5.5" screen but a 3,450mah battery.
Given lack of 5G I've decided to stick with Pixel 2 XL. No point dropping a £1k on a phone that will need replacing in 6 months.
add sd card slot
2800mAh? really? who would buy this now a days...

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2019How long will the world try to copy apple Can't you produce your own ideas Further more Snap... moreSilly me was always thinking that it was Apple who copies everyone else’s designs.
Is there any info about the XL version?
