Have started using as phone, rest of bullshit on secondary phone. Runs more than 2 days. Will use it till not repairable.
Great phone, almost dying. Getting Pixel 9 pro maybe?
did Pixel 4a have some issue that often happen to many users?
Like unresponsive screen, What caused it?
Just bought 4a used, then returned it after a week of testing. Nice device even in 2024: fast, compacts, with a very good camera. Had to return it because the power button was faulty: it would restart the phone and call emergency on it's own from time to time. Also the screen had a green hue. And some issues with pixel experience which were not fixed since 3a. I guess all pixels have build issues, that was my 3rd one.
I have this phone with me as a spare phone mainly for data hotspot. To my surprise the camera is still good and the phone is fast enough for my use as I dont play games at all. But the battery life is atrocious. I have it on battery saving mode all the time. The form factor is fantastic, it feels so small compared to my daily driver Pixel 6 Pro. For those who wanna buy it in 2024, I would say don't!
on2wheels, 31 Jan 2024Flashed it to 11, doesn't have the screen-power button in the pull-down menu. Flashed it... moreDefinitely not. The only upgrade to pixel would be a pixel but google doesn't seeem to putting any effort on performance numbers. Prices are increasing though.
rick, 21 May 2023yes! It's available now, but just to Google One subscribersI don't subscribe to Google 1 but I've got magic eraser on my 4a
Anonymous, 13 May 2023Is magic editor coming to pixel 4a?Yes magic eraser is available on pixel 4a with the update to Android 13 I've got it now on my 4a
Flashed it to 11, doesn't have the screen-power button in the pull-down menu. Flashed it to 12 and living our best life, 3.5 years after release. Still get a day+ on a charge no problem. Moto G84 is calling my name though... should I upgrade?

This phone has been ruined by Android 11, 12, and 13 cause multitouch function isn't working unlike Android 10
The phone flashlight turns off automatically saying that the device is too hot. After receiving the November 2023 update nothing changed.

Great phone! Have used it for three years. The weakest points are: the battery performance has declined significantly, the screen got a bit duller, and one of the speakers stopped working
It is a nice phone
Good smartphone. I bought it in December 2020. The camera is excellent even today. The interface works almost as smoothly.
There are also some problems. The display is a little faded after almost three years of use. The battery almost died after 700 charging cycles. I would like to change the battery and continue to use it, but after the fall there is a crack in the glass, due to which when replacing the battery the matrix will most likely be damaged. Unfortunately this phone will soon have to retire.
