No nothing happened to me after updating. Maybe a tad faster in overall usage and that's fine to me!

After updating to Android 14 on my 4a , battery started draining out faster. After doing factory reset, complete data wiped & restoration of mobile, battery back up increased little bit but still it's not like the way it was before when I had bought this mobile. May be battery need to be replaced.
Other than battery back everything is perfect.

Please.. put a horizontal padding to "clear all" button at "background applications" menu. This UI glitch has been irritating me since several Android OS versions. Android 13 is the same

My opinion on Android upgrade 13 is very good. No change in battery performance. At the end of the day still 40% remains. I am not using for gaming but watching videos from streaming services at least 3 to 4 hours a day. From day 1 , I am using adaptive power charging which preserves battery life while charging at slow speed during non working hours.

Slapped GrapheneOS on it and it's amazing, goes 3 days of moderate use without charging, runs what it needs to, screen is great, no complaints.

Volume of ringer for phone is muted, and repair shop (bought new 30 days ago) says bad motherboard. phone does NOT ring through....so if i'm not around to hear the vibration, i can never answer. The calendar feature is very difficult to use....typing in the hour and minute is MUCH easier than playing with a clock feature twice--one each to set the hour, then the minute. If you're like to organize the pictures you took, AVOID! this is the most difficult smartphone i've ever had...downloading, putting pix in different file folders -- even editing the pix on your camera is unnecessarily difficult. rather than being able to edit and post pix immediately, i have to download onto my laptop/desktop and use picture editing software there. Camera optics are far inferior to the Galaxy 9 i used for years. I think the tech guys who review these phones should use the phone for a month or two before writing their review----issues and problems are so rarely known within the first days of use

Honestly if you're considering this device, don't listen to the "reviews" in the comment section about small battery capacity = bad battery life because this phone is a beast!
I only use social media, make calls, text some friends, SE YouTube and a lot of camera work and don't game on my phone so it lasts me from 6am to 9pm at night!
The small screen and slightly slow processor really keeps the battery going strong. There are no overheating issues unless you like to play Genshin Impact all day and use a now $200 phone like an S22 Ultra or iPhone 13 Pro.
I've only had one overheating time and that was because I was mirroring YouTube to my laptop screen which was really hurting the device (which was in a case). Aside that it's been good all round. Cameras are solid to the point my family takes pictures with my 4a over my sister's iPhone 12!
If you're going to buy this, I highly recommend it for you. Try and get one with OEM unlock available so that you can extend the device life with custom ROMs after next year. There are only a few Android 12 glitches and that's all
9.5/10 for me!

Hadikhokhar, 13 Jul 2022Whats about battery issue is it a manufacturing faultHonestly there is nothing wrong with the battery from factory or used but there is so much on there like you can increase the range of your motion controller to I think it's 300 m and then the phone will die in about 8 minutes. It has almost near root control and jailbroken capacity on it. Ive ran over 31.5 hours on the battery from 1 charge. Also don't forget this was the 1st year Google has 20% of the battery on their phone's hidden so that they can turn it back on and you can find your phone app so you can unlock that as well I usually only keep it at like 5%.

When I'm gonna get a new phone in a couple of more months, idk which to choose, there's this pixel 4a and infinix note 12 G96 I both love each phones cause the pixel 4a is a 5 inch phone and infinix note 12 G96 has extended ram up to 13, but pixel 4a has Google os and I'm a fan of it, so I don't know, snapdragon is better than helio but G96 infinix is way cheaper.. Idkkkk

MK, 27 Jul 2022google pixel 4a camera lens can be scratched if it is used for long time?Used for one year and 8 months. There is no problem with the camera lens. A scratch came in the circle. But there is no problem with the cam and photo. It is very clear
