i used a 4xl for a while and i must say that battery had me stressing. It didnt last long at all, that phone eventually gave up on me after it broke unfortunately and i want to buy a refurbished or second hand pixel 5a or 5. Which one should i go for?

Got this phone used for 150 Euros, tried all of the most popular custom ROMs with it, now using LineageOS and it's great. Very nice phone, pleasant to use. Great camera, using it with the original Pixel camera app.

Ofcourse heat dissipation in phones is very important. Now you know what is your problem. In pixel 5 is even more problematic, because this phone is made of aluminum, and than back cover, which is also from aluminium is covered with some resin plastic. Which don't help to disipate temperature. When I charge my phone, sometimes it's stoped charging because of heat. Once in a car in summer, when I left phone in glove box, it turn off by him self, because of to much heat. How I know that! Because, after turning on again, it produced a warning what happened.

Because some phone when I did a battery replacement, I just completely remove the graphite sheet and the temp is still normal after that. Seems like pixel is really picky about the components.
Anyway, thanks, will try install a new graphite sheet later on.

I instaled graphite sheet wrong. And I assume, now is overheating because of that. I also have s20 exynos version, and is getting hot as hell sometimes. But I made some cooling paste, and I open up phone, and I put some paste inside, with some alu sheets. And I must say. Phone is now significantly cooler. I wish that I did same with pixel 5.

However, from my experience the esim connectivity is pretty weak. Kept getting a drop call & unstable data connection.. but the problem gone when I changed the esim in pixel 5 into an iphone.
