Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 cancel twice as much noise with Tensor A1 chip

Google Headphones Mobile accessories TWS Announcement

At its grand event today Google unveiled the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 3, and, finally, the Pixel Buds Pro 2. These are (rather obviously) the successors to the Pixel Buds Pro from 2022, and Google promises a lot of improvements.

First, the new buds feature Google's own Tensor A1 chip, which delivers "powerful performance". So powerful, in fact, that you can expect these buds to cancel twice as much noise as the original Pixel Buds Pro in mid-frequency ranges (400Hz-2kHz). Not just that, but ANC adapts to your environment three million times per second.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 promise to be comfortable for all-day wear, as they were apparently designed using 45 million data points from different ears. They have 11mm drivers and support spatial audio with head tracking. They can also use Gemini through the Gemini mobile app.

Google says its new buds use beamforming mics, wind-blocking mesh covers, and Google AI to make calls extra clear. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 support Google's new Find My Device network. When you lose either the buds or the case, they will ring to help you find them. The buds support multipoint connectivity too.

The Pixel Buds app brings support for five-band custom EQ, and delivers software updates for your buds. Google promises up to 8 hours of listening time with ANC on (12 hours with ANC off), and up to 30 hours with the case and ANC on (48 hours with ANC off). Speaking of the case, this supports wireless charging.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are now available to pre-order from the Google Store in Porcelain, Hazel, Wintergreen, and Peony for $229 / £219 / €249. They will start shipping on September 26.

I was hoping too for new codec or perhaps Auracast, no even a support and they update their buds every 2 years... Well, I'm still interested to hear them but a review would be nice, specially in mic captation where Buds 3 Pro or even Sony XM5 ...

So...no new codecs? Meaning it's still operating under that severely outdated AAC profile with no LDAC or LE (despite the watch supporting LE now)? Absolutely pathetic. My Aurvana Ace 2 which supports Snapdragon Sound w/ AptX lossless is HALF th...
