Google’s voice recorder app getting desktop interface via web

Google Android Apps Online services

One of the Google Pixel’s most compelling features is its voice recording app. Currently exclusively available on all Pixel phones, the voice recorder app transcribes voice (only in US-English at the moment) in real-time, even without a data connection.

As reported by 9to5Google, the Google Recorder web application has arrived, albeit a bit early as the interface isn’t fully working just yet. Recorder.google.com has gone live and the site will allow you to listen to and view recordings and their transcriptions.

The app makes it easy to search through hours-long recordings and will even automatically tag lectures or interviews by vague topics. You can also trim recordings by cutting out chunks of the transcription through text. This is currently only possible to do all from the Google Pixel’s recording app, so a web interface that will allow you to do the above, plus share these recordings and transcriptions is a great way to expand the app’s usability.

You can head to the website now, and it will show you a landing page. When you try to sign in with your Google account in its current state, the app doesn’t work. We anticipate that Google will launch the app quite soon, likely when the mobile app is updated with backup functionality.

tbh that is a pretty two sided argument. i personally think no, because of the way they create a profile on you and then send u personalized ads in websites, Facebook and other 3rd party services.
