Apple iOS Rumors

Apple is planning several high-profile launches in 2025, and Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter gives us a rundown of what’s to come in the coming months. Apple is expected to kick things off with new 13” and 15” MacBook Air models (J713 and J715). Both are reportedly in production and will feature the Apple M4 chip.

The iPhone SE is next up, with a rumored launch in Spring 2025 and a starting price of $429. This will be the most affordable iPhone to run Apple Intelligence with a body similar to the iPhone 14, the Apple A18 chipset, and Apple’s in-house modem chips.

Gurman also believes Apple will launch two new entry-level iPads (J481 and J482) armed with the Apple A17 Pro chip and 8GB RAM just like the latest iPad mini. These boosted specs will allow the upcoming device to run Apple Intelligence.

Those will be joined by new iPad Air models (J607, J608, J637 and J638) speculated to feature the latest Apple M4 chip and the same basic design as the 11” and 13” iPad Airs that launched last year.

Moving on, the new report also shares a few details on Apple’s upcoming smart home hub device. It will feature a 7-inch touchscreen that will help users “manage household tasks”, run apps and make video calls. The device could be used on its own in countertop mode or attached to a wall. Apple is reportedly aiming to launch its smart home hub in March but it may take a while before it goes on open sale.

Fall will bring the new iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air. The Air was most recently rumored to measure 5.5mm at its thinnest point – over 2mm thinner than the current iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. It will feature a “base-level A19 chip” and single camera on the back.

So, no iPhone Plus or +, while Air will be thinner with a lower quality chip

iPad Air was just refreshed last year. Interesting if they're going to refresh it so quickly. It's not like the M2 is underpowered or anything, and it already supports Apple Intelligence.

Still, without fingerprint-lock/unlock + that spyware-monstrosity ... :( It's still too edgy for what Apple used to mean. :)
