I used this phone for almost a year and while it had good build quality, Huawei didn't optimize the resources on this device. Note that there are two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 2 GB RAM. I owned the 2GB version. Some issues include;
1. The battery life was not that great but ok.
2. The most annoying aspect was the lags and hanging. Some apps were choppy. I was left wondering whether the SD Chip 616 and adreno 405 are incapable of handling issues. I current have a device with similar specs running on SD 430 and it is way ahead of this device.
3. Updates - this is perhaps the greatest disappointment from huawei. This device could probably perform better with Android N but huawei won't upgrade it. So you are stuck with Android M!
I loved the device aesthetics but unfortunately it wasn't a performer in the software department. Note this especially if you plan on running alot of apps for business. If you just want a device for calling and sms, it might be ok for you. For the price point, we expected better.

The worst phone I got in my entire life. The network is very weak. To many troubles to get connected with 4G. I will change it as soon as possible. I can't compare it to LG phones or any other.

honor 5x user, 28 Sep 2017it was a good phone actually... but if huawei honor can update this phone to android nougat it... moreThere will be no official update for 5X, However you can get Linage 14.1 which is Nougat 7.1.2

Keg_of_Corona, 06 Sep 2017Is there a Chance that this Phone can be Upgraded to Nougat ?Huawei (HiHonor) has not honored their commitment of 2 years of updates stopping at Marshmallow. They have no plans to upgrade this phone to nougat at least in the USA. Requests to HiHonor for info on the subject are responded with by telling us how valuable we are as customers and with links to their Facebook which they use primarily to try and sell you other products.

Some people say you can clean the headphone jack with something, but that would not work for me. I had to use the factory reset to make the sound work again. I had to reinstall my apps after the factory reset, but my pictures were safe on my SD card, and my contacts and apps all came back through Google Play. Good luck, wa alaykumu as salam.

Assalam o alaikum. My 5x mobile set shows hand free inserted status and showing recommendations with earphones by sliding down status bar . Due to this , speakers are deactivated. By Switching it off or restart doesn't work. Kindly help me with that.

i'm so clumsy person ,so my phone had fall off from my hand like thousand times and i'm pretty sure that it works good so its the perfect phone for me , but last week i uploaded a lots of files into the phone the memory got fulled up. and there are a blue light coming out from above the screen so i tried everything including to trans the files into my laptop it didn't work so if anyone have a suggestion please let me know
