Honor 8 may not get Oreo update
If you are a Honor 8 user who's waiting for the Oreo update for the device, there's some bad news: the update may not arrive. Replying to a user-query on Twitter, the company's India subsidiary said "Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update."
we can understand your concern. However, we regret to inform you that Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update due to hardware and software limitations. We always work for our customers and we are really glad to have you as an Honor customer. Inconvenience is regretted.

As for the reason, the tweet lacks specifics - just says due to hardware and software limitations. Honor is yet to officially announce this, and we suggest you wait for that to happen as more often than not, social media reps are ill-informed.
For those who aren't aware, other devices in the series, including Honor 8 Pro and Honor 8 Lite, will be getting the Oreo update.
