It turns out the European Honor 9XÂÂÂ’s model number is identical to the Huawei P Smart Z. This phone launched back in May 2019 and, not coincidentally, was HuaweiÂÂÂ’s first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. The two phones share a number of other hardware similarities, including the same Kirin 710F processor, huge 6.59-inch display, rear fingerprint sensor, and the 4,000mAh battery. There are, however, a few notable differences, including the camera specifications, memory configuration, and the aesthetic design, of course.

So they could not change the processor...no more Huawei for me if they cannot sell phones with Google.
Huawei released the most powerful mid-range chipset Kirin 810 but only available in China... I'm really angry and sad cause I've waited for this phone for how many months and it's my dream phone, pop-up cam and side fingerprint w/powerful chipset for a cheap price. :( I just hoped they put Kirin 980 instead even for a little higher price. Look at Huawei Nova 5T. I don't really care about camera they could just put 2 or 3 rear camera to make it a little cheaper.
when is going to be launched in Inida, no new phones from Huawei or honor in past 3 months ...So Sad
AndY, 04 Nov 2019445 dollars when the nearly same phone Y9 2019 is 220 dollars...must be a mistakeThe phone you compared it to is not possible to get in all markets, also it depends on which storage and RAM config you compare it to also! Not to mention this has a fancy new 48mp camera.

rraj, 31 Oct 2019same hereIts the USA`s fault, due to sanctions the only way to get it with GAPPS(google services) is to label it as a older model which means they most use the Kirin 710F...

Repurposing old models is clearly possible and Huawei could launch “new” smartphones using older internals. Bringing flagship innards and software down to the mid-range a year or so later is very common anyway. However, this isn’t a particularly viable solution for flagship phones.
Few consumers are interested in older internals at flagship prices. At least not without major improvements to photography or other capabilities, which may or may not be possible. Even if Huawei improved its camera capabilities and memory configurations, high-end customers demand bleeding-edge performance and new features, which would break GMS compatibility.
