Anonymous, 22 Sep 2020If you buy this for gaming, DO NOT DO IT it is marked a gaming phone but when you try to play... morei bought it 1.5 years ago and yes u shouldn't buy it right now there are better options
The fourth dot appeared on the inappropriate constellation in the middle of the screen, and the left dot is smudged and changing bright dot into a bright line. Screen quality is super low, this is not reaching 2 y/o yet for god's sake.
If you buy this for gaming,
DO NOT DO IT it is marked a gaming phone but when you try to play a game that requires 2+ fingers like cod mobile, critical ops or even minecraft. There seems to be touch delay 1. 5 second approximately and they still haven't fixed it. I almost destroyed my phone because of frustration of this phone because it puts you at a complete desadvantage.

Honor Play review - GSMArena.com tests
Carmanen , 04 Sep 2020Just received August security update so it is still nice to get support for this phone after 2... moreYesterday received another software OTA update on my Honor View 10. In India, we already received the Android 10 update 8 months prior and this new update updates the android security patches and tries to take you one step closer to using Huawei services rather than Google.
Below is the current software version on my Honor View 10 after the update:
Build: 10.0.0.182 (C675E4R1P1)
EMUI Version: 10.0.0
Android Version: 10
Android Security Patch Level: July, 2020.
My eyebrows raised looking at the size of the update, a huge 4.41 GB. Just to update the security patch from Apr, 2020 to July, 2020 Honor needs to push this huge 4.41 GB update. The truth is more than meets the eye. Huawei/ Honor (after Google ban) every-time is changing their EMUI inside out, which is requiring them to push an entire new build. These subsequent builds are not incremental in any way hence such big updates every-time.
With every update I can see more and more emphasis is laid in delineating Google services from their EMUI. For example in this update, Huawei is trying to stop the user from using Google Assistant by default and want them to use Huawei Assistant. If I was not careful in providing permissions after the restart of the phone after update, l would have accidentally enabled their assistant.
Any Huawei/ Honor phone released before Google ban and currently running on EMUI 10 (Android 10) global ROMs are primary examples of the ongoing tussle between Google Mobile Services [GMS] & Huawei Mobile Services [HMS], as both comes integrated in the latest EMUI. Personally I never use the Huawei AppGallery, disabled everything in it. I never update the HMS core on Huawei AppGallery leaving HMS powerless. The only app I ever update from them in AppAssistant/ Game Suite which is the Game Acceleration Engine. For everything else I use Google Playstore and give the power of control back to GMS. I also have to go into phone setting and their are may hidden settings where we get options to choose, say between Google Assistant & Huawei Assistant.
Steve , 26 Aug 2020Don’t compare it with poco x2.HONOR PLAY was released In 2018 and x2 is released this year..so... moreIf it's a bad phone, you can. Surisingly my zenfone 2's screen back from 2015 is in better condition than this piece of junk. I got 2 big balls of light around my fingger and one small but very bright tip of light right in the middle of the screen. I always see the constellation of pen-- in my honor play who' s not 2 y/o yet because the screen is terrible and yes comparable to phone from 2015 back.
Accidentally let some space up and get the new update installed. Now some apps unable to connect to the internet. What the f do they mees around again this time.
Just received August security update so it is still nice to get support for this phone after 2 years of existence even if we won't get Android 10. Love this phone!

Patrikk , 20 Aug 2020Why they push small updates from week to another Why they didn't give this phone emui 10 Because it is midrange phone and Huawei very rarely updates other than flagships with 2 major Android updates... gruel fact!
4 GB useless update (assistant n browser) whats the use giving these after 2 years.
instead of emui 10 and august patch.
Faceckoock, 19 Aug 2020Yes 188.8.131.529 today but in my model get 184.108.40.2066 July update.
I bought this phone to play pubg mobile with good fps in November 2019, it was working just fine until very recently. It's been a few days like 4-5 days my honor play is giving SHIT performance. I have no idea why this sudden drop of frame. It was giving almost 60 fps until recently. I have no idea what happened now and I'm extremely disappointed. I'm used to good fps, now after playing with good fps for MONTHS I cant play with this framedrop. I'm so fucking disappointed at this device I have no words. I would even say don't buy this try pocof1 or something man. I'm Disappointed. Very disappointed:/

Will the Honor 20 be a good enough upgrade over Honor Play? What do you guys think? I'm torn between Honor 20 and the Realme X2 pro.
