I'm in current work with HTC 10 smartphones right now so I'm sure I can help. Being unable to update the software can be to blame on multiple things, your network provider might not have pushed out the update. Your region or Country might not have the update available right now. Your phone could be pre-owned or refurbished and using a possible custom ROM preventing it from ever updating. If none of these seem right to you then it could simply be the model number, certain units don't receive all updates from HTC or provided networks, unfortunately.

Ended up using an old Xperia Z5.. Slightly older than htc 10 but no battery issues. Gonna be stuck for a true replacement though as the htc 10 was epic while it worked.
Had to take my htc 10 back to the shop. Luckily when i bought it i got a 24 months warranty. It was switching off at 30%, then 50 then 70. Sometimes it would lose all its charge too. It lost so much value too so maybe its known to have a weak battery. Will miss the audio from that phone especially in the headphones.. It was great for 12 months. Would definitely avoid it now as it sounds like this problem is all too common.

I have ordered new battery from AliExpress, paid around 13$, went to local phone repair store and spend 20$ more for replacing the battery. Phone is perfect since then, with no more shut downs or bootloops. I am really happy i haven't bought a new phone.

Battery has major issues after 2 years. Turns itself off at around 30% although just lately its started emptying itself at 50+%. Would like to know where I can get an official battery replacement as everything else works fine still. A shame that such a great phone will probably end up in the rubbish pile.
Best phone, more durable than the s7, fast, great camera, great fast charging and i love the design, been using for 10 months, no problem at all

The same happened to me and now it has lasted 3 years.
I just stopped using this phone 10 days ago in favor of an LG G7 I got super cheap.
I miss the 10 but my screen is damaged and I haven't had luck in getting a real HQ replacement (been through a few replacements now that don't work properly).

S... morealso have the htc 10 since launch, however after little over 2.2 years of use the phone still works but functionality is dropping. cant use youtube anymore with second gmail account, cant login in to twitter app, facebook app using it in dutch but sometimes it cant find the language so it goes to english, and the batterij is way over do. have to keep it on the charger at home because its not reliable anymore. sometime the phone just dies at 75/65% of batterij life and when i try to turn it back on it says 1% so whenever i go ouy i have to know its fully charged and take a powerbank with me. aside this issues i hope htc is coming with a 2019 flagahip but i doubt it.. there is an exodus1 "u12" updates phone.. but i dont want that bitcoin bullshit on there. so i guess ill be going to the huawei p30
Still holding up even after two years of heavy usage (3+ hours a day). Only a few glitches here or there. Battery is starting to crap out, which is to be expected from Lithium ion batteries. Not easy to replace but might be worth it if you can't shell out another $199+ for a new phone.
got it since launch, solid phone though the battery has gone to shit in the last few months. Still not much out there though that tempts me to switch
I am using the phone for about 18 months - very good phone except the battery
it drains quickly due to the resolution of the screen
it gives you about 4 -5 hours
but over all very good phone
Irresolute, 28 Mar 2019What's the best option between Htc10, Honor 8 and Xperia xz? I've heard that htc10 has problem... moreI've used the HTC 10 for 2 years now, never had a problem with wifi connection.... the battery is what you'd expect from a 3000mah battery on a phone that's soon to be 3 years old.
