For All those moaning about the battery life go to the link below and click "expand" button against all battery comparisons. then compare Droid DNA(the butterfly's verizon variant) with other smartphones. and then talk
HTC always seems to miss a couple things. Although I'll likely buy this device I hope my U.S. variant (carrier driven specs) has proper internal HDD of 32-gig not 16-gig (insufficent for device of this class) and the totally inadequate batteyr of 2020mAh. With a 1080p LCD3 Display this device screams for a 3000+ mAh cell.
Of less disappointment is 32-gig max SD slot. Its time for OEMs to make cutting edge devices hold 64-gig internally and within the SD slot. Let's hope the root ROMs hit the boards quickly and HTC doesn't do its typical wait forever for 4.2 upgrade.
I'd only give the Butterfly 8 to maybe 8.5 out of 10. Battery minus 1.0 and storage minus 1.0.
Otherwise am looking forward to using this new phablet once my carrier gets around to offering it.
I wud buy this next year ~ i bet it's better than droid dna n way better than one X+
AnonD-88116, 12 Dec 2012Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with less... moreiPhone?
Li-Po used (or perhaps invented) by Sony Ericsson or should I say Ericsson?
Even SE Xperia line-ups using Li-Po.
Not everything invented by Apple, Ok?
AnonD-88116, 12 Dec 2012Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with less... moreThere were phones with Li-polymer batteries even back in 2002 (I had one). Actually, here's an Ericsson T28s from 1999:
HTC's sense does not stop making me feel good. Its never boring such as Samsung's Touchwiz. I like that weather widget, beautiful and lively Icons and nice crisp colours. Keep it coming HTC.
good look and have nice specs bt ph clearity is not quite good also can see on http://redbullz.com/the-latest-htc-butterfly-android-smartphone-and-its-features-specifications-and-pricing/
AnonD-88116, 12 Dec 2012Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with less... morelithium - polymer battery are used in every smartphone....this is not something new that apple invented ...so please stop
AnonD-88116, 12 Dec 2012Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with less... moretnx for your point Roh...do you know how much is different bw batterfly ana dna about battary scores??
AnonD-88116, 12 Dec 2012Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with less... moreLi-po doesnt make the difference for iPhones, its the OS. Get your facts straigt, dozens of devices are using Li-po..
Battery..this is a Li-po battery same used in iphone 5..its much reliable and longer with lesser MAH as u can see in iphone battery tests and also droid DNA (US version of butterfly)..and iphone has just 1430 li-po..butterfly is 2020 li-po..so you can see its higher..its not the old battery tech Li-ion used by other manufacturers..So stop comparing! As its already proven good. Also it will support upto 64 gb cards as many older devices too support them.
AnonD-64809, 07 Dec 2012Human wants are really unlimited! -_- when Htc wasn't having a SD card they were crying for it... morelol... u're right, now wht do u want? a 1 TB HDD in ur phone !!! ??? Damn :P
AnonD-86729, 07 Dec 2012I've read so many comments regarding HTC phones and I truly believe that there is serious prej... moreI agree, marketing is a very imp key factor in sucess. Samsung has gained that reputation by same thing. It's time for HTC to agressively focus on marketing, in India only technically sound poeple are aware of HTC, rest all just blindly buy Samsung or Nokia :(
Unlike Samsung who concentrate on putting bulky batteries on their phones, HTC focus on engineering their phone to be more battery efficient. Just look at Droid DNA, 2020mAh battery that powers 30% more pixels and uses a more powerful Quad core Krait processor and still would last longer than One X+. HTC has been consistently increasing the power efficiency of their flagship phones since HTC One X. On the other hand Samsung just insist on putting a bigger battery because they know users want to see bigger numbers on the spec charts.
Samsung don't care about the sophisticated engineering and the architecture of the phones, they just go for other alternatives that wont require much effort although I admit to really ADMIRE the camera on GS3 and NOTE2. But right now i can clearly see the trend on improvements made by HTC on the power efficiency department. Time will come that they would have equally power efficient phones that wont use a bulky battery and it translates to better design and LIGHTER weight. I HOPE THEY WOULD IMPROVE THE CAMERA THOUGH.
I wont be surprised if they would release a phone that just uses a 2300mAh battery but having an endurance rating of more than 70 hours.
Spec speaking this phone has features which are at the top of the market right now which leaves its capability able to surpass any other phone on the market including the nemesis Galaxy S family........case closed
