The best phone i have come across-ed though i have been in cell phone service industry since last 10 years my experience says this is the best one in all aspect rather i would say it is far better than apple i-phone
but this phone is not meant for ordinary people it is a special model for special people. write to me for more info at email@example.com
aks, 11 Jan 2011This phone is awesome, no lags, htc wigets are just Wow. But just one problem its battery... moreKeep screen background as black, use Clean Slate as your scenes. All good now :) Should give you about extra 5-10% more than usual.

Please. The % difference is not a big bowWow.
True, chip smaller, less power but it's not like you just saved 50% battery. This phone may drain a bit more compared to 2nd gen but it's definitely not by a long shot.
1st Gen 2nd Gen or what not, your phone battery usage % will still drain at about the same rate if you use it extensively. Idling, would have to depend on the phone. bigger screen, power consuming screen and what not, it may not be a difference at all.
Unless there is an IDENTICAL phone (all the same hardware but 2nd gen 1Ghz) then I would then say this phone would consume faster than that. Else = stfu.

Gr8 phone. I got it with Android 2.2 already installed. Had a Galaxy S before this, returned it and got the desire. Battery life sucks, but apart from that very nice to use. The touch UI is smooth and easy to use. Camera quality is decent and also the 720p video recording is not bad. Android 2.2 allows the apps to be installed on the SD card. I wish there was some eay to improve the battery life. I have to carry my charger with me all time. Nevertheless, i just like this phone.
good news for htc users.....htc sync 3.0.551 supports almost all htc android phones for desktop connection.....know more and download from http://www.techrings.co.cc

It's really about time GSM changed the specs for this phone.
Just to let you guys know. HTC Desire uses 1st gen 1ghz snapdragon processor. It will kill the battery faster than the 2nd gen QSD and MSM processors.
This phone is fast, but not blazing fast. But if you want a nice built-quality phone, go for it.
AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution looks gorgeous.
If you want a decent phone, this is the phone for you.
It may not be the fastest or play the smoothest on games, this phone will be just fine.

dave, 11 Jan 2011Yes, but if you root your Desire, u can say "bye bye" to your guaranty certificate. ... moreNot completely accurate.
Rooting itself doen't invalidate the warranty, this has been discussed on Android Forums and XDA numerous times.
Flashing a new Rom will, however by running the official RUU whilst the phone is attached to a PC restores it to stock and there's no way of telling you had it rooted. So warranty is good again.
This phone is awesome, no lags, htc wigets are just
But just one problem its battery . No internet, only some calls and some messages result into 1/4 th its battery &
I have to charge it daily please can one help me to increase

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2011anyone has idea on how to change location of incoming downloads.my downloads go to phone stora... moreIf you are talking about Apps see my post below yours.
The phone only has 147Mb available for apps. To increase this you need A2SD+
Froyo has gone part of the way with move to sd, but this doen't work on widgets and only moves part of the app not the whole app (Also this requires the developer to support this, not all apps can be moved).
anyone has idea on how to change location of incoming downloads.my downloads go to phone storage and its almost full.i need to know how to change it to phone memory.thanks
Archimoron, 10 Jan 2011Is the internal memory 512MB enough for this smartphone, if the memory gets full does get slow... moreFor apps you get circa 147 Mb
This is easily resolved by rooting and flashing a custom rom that supports A2SD+ you can then add a Ext 2/3/4 to your SD card and the phone will then see this partition as internal memory as well.
I have about 60 Apps/Widgets added to my phone and It's showing only 37 of the 147Mb used so far, and my partition isn't full yet.
Custom Roms also have other benifits like better battery life, undervolt & Overclock, CPU Profiles ant not having to wait for your carrier to release new OS as the guys at XDA get their roms out way ahead of the carriers.
