Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011My Friend bought HTC Desire for RS. 22,500 in Bangalore from Spice Hotspot.Any more details about this purchase? I want to purchase one as well :)
Ray Hipkiss, 06 Jan 2011 No, my good friend. I have not bought an Android phone. I settled on the Nokia N8. It was a ... moreMy first phone ever was Nokia 8250, with its signature blue backlight and butterfly button. Nokia produces good phones, 3310 is a classic. Well, it still does, but phone manufacturers have differentiated themselves over the years. As a consumer, my impression of SE is that it has best phone cameras, for Nokia, best "real" phone if you only need the basic phone functions and they are very durable. Other phones like Samsung and HTC are more like mini computers already and are known as "smart" phones. They have much poorer battery lives (compared to Nokia) but in exchange u get powerful features and multi-tasking. All in all, it really depends on what u look in a phone, there is no such thing as the best phone. In terms of market share, Nokia is still one of the top leaders in many countries.
Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011You disliked Android yet you still buy an Android phone? No, my good friend. I have not bought an Android phone.
I settled on the Nokia N8. It was a difficult choice to make, deciding between Samsung Galaxy S, the HTC Desire and it's bigger Brother the Desire HD and the Nokia N8.
Now, I'm not here to praise the N8, nor am I here to Troll.
I chose the N8 simply for it's camera and free SatNav. Also, I'm quite happy using Symbian as I'm quite used to it, having used it for some years now. I understand that a lot of people loathe Symbian, stating it's ugly and out of date, and that's a fair argument. But for me, Symbian^3 is a big improvement on S60 5th edition, which is pretty annoying it has to be said.
Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011This is a Desire forum, why are you discussing about android and other os? Hahas! Have you own... more I've previously commented on the phones performance. As I remember it, I said the phone itself is top notch.
The reason I'm commenting on Android is because the Desire runs on that OS. It is an integral part of the phone so should be included in any discussions of the Desire.
prashant b, 05 Jan 2011hi aryan...desire costs about 23,000-24,000,,mumbaiMy Friend bought HTC Desire for RS. 22,500 in Bangalore from Spice Hotspot.
PRASHANT B,PUNE, 05 Jan 2011hi friends...i just bought desire on 1jan.desire is awesome...i also own a wildfire..what i ob... moremaybe just maybe it's down to the network and not the processor.
The WF is working at full speed and the network is supplying the data at a compatible speed.
The Desire could have an even faster processor but it can only process and load a webpage as fast as your network can supply the data.

crabby, 05 Jan 2011Desire is a great phone! Definitely lasts at least for 1 day!
@Ray You are so sure that many ... more@Crabby. I expect people to disagree with my views because we are all free thinking individuals and it would be a boring world if we all shared the same opinions.
Even if I was 100% correct in what I say and think, there will always be someone to argue with me. Always.
If you disagree with anything I've said so far, please offer an intelligent debate. I absolutely welcome it.
I'm not posting here to start a flame war. Just to open a solid debate on certain issues.
All the best.
@Annonymous ( both of you ). Agreed, HTC + Android is a far better option than having an Apple iPhoney. Wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.
In response to the WiFi issue though, yes you should protect your wireless network ( mine certainly is ) but that still doesn't give Google the right to illegally scan for unprotected networks and then store login details. After all, they are supposed to be a responsible company, but they appear to have no regard for peoples privacy.
As I said before, they are spying on your incoming emails, which is despicable as the sender has not agreed to Googles terms and conditions for Gmail. For instance, every time I send my friend an email from my Window$ Live account to his Gmail account, my email is being read not only by my friend but by Google also and as far as I'm concerned that is a breach of my right to privacy.
I did say also that Android itself isn't bad, but Google who own it keeps me from wanting anything to do with it.
Thanks for the responses so far. Hope to hear from some more soon.
Jad, 04 Jan 2011About two days ago I bought my HTC desire at first I was glad about it then it turned on havin... moreThe battery needs to charge fully for few times before it can perform to its maximum capacity.

@Ray You are so sure that many people will disagree your views and opinions as you know it was wrong from the start? Ha ha!
At elast its not an Apple product, who force you to have what they think you want.
As mentioned, if your wifi in unprotected, you deserve what you get.
At least google offer people more apps & customisation so the phones look different. Ive been totally converted to Android and love it.
