can we update the software from 2.1 to 2.2 from desire itself or we have to give it to the service centre
Geet Singh, 08 Nov 2010Hi Ankit/Desire,
Im also a HTC Desire user. Before buying it, did a lot of research on basi... morewhere in india did u buy it and how much did it cost you. I am looking to buy the desire. Can you give be your reviews about it ??
The goods and bads would help about the phone ..
The only thing stopping me buying this is no equaliser, has anyone got and equaliser for this.My htc touch pro has something called audio boost when you plug in headset and know desire is Android but same company,,any ideas..Thank you..
I need help.
I have the Desire but i am having problems in adding contacts via de software. Its tiresome to add contacts on the phone :(
And i cant even open the contacts log on the software once i connect the phone to the pc.
I received my Desire last weekend.
The Touch and screen is not as fast and fluent as Apple and some of the features are in places you wouldn´t expect, but Android is quite easy to learn and very ease to install and use the apps.
but htc should also use super amoled...
the only thing best in samsungs....
otherwise htc .. is really "wow"
the only word i have for htc is wow....
this is my dream phone...........
rightly named as desire..........
i can't afford it now sadly......sob sob.....
but i would eventually buy this...
collecting and saving for it.....
and i am really impressed with desire hd rom ported to desire...
samsung 's android phones and others are not very user friendly..
but htc phones are really user friendly and high customisable..
u can change a lot of roms and a lots of customizations also available for these....
Is there a batt that will last longer than a day? my batt life drains very fast.

[deleted post]Hi Ankit/Desire,
Im also a HTC Desire user. Before buying it, did a lot of research on basically Android and 2.2 specifically and its launch with different handsets.
As per my knowledge, 2.2 update is launched seperately for HTC Desire bought from HTC outlets and different when bought from any Telecom Carrier and then the OS is modified as per the Carrier.
So in your case, Android is modified as per T-Mobile and 2.2 will be available only when T-Mobile launches with Android as its upgraded through OTA(Over The Air).
So, kindly check the update in your respective country before replying on India.
Regarding my case, I bought it in India around 1 n 1/2 month back and the day I bought it, I checked the update & it was showing me 2.2 update available which I did it through OTA.
Lyon, 07 Nov 2010yeah and not forgetting the famous/infamous iOs... haha....Yes, I forgot to mention that OS. :D In my opinion Android is the BEST OS now. :) :X
I read a few week ago something about a spy ware on Android. What do you know about it?

There are many Operating Systems(OS) such the Windows Mobile, Bada OS, Mac OS, Palm OS, Symbian, Android, Blackberry OS, and soon Meego(Nokia phones). The Desire HD is a very good phone. The Desire is good too. I will buy the Desire when I will have enough money. :)
Mobilemaster, 07 Nov 2010When I mention good or bad CPU I am talking about their speeds. The Desire HD has a Snapdragon... moreThank you so much!! eventhough I'm not 100% sure, at least I am closer to making a decision, samsung is out of question but I am still debating over N8 and desire ...quite simply because of the camera and how they look - vain? I know :) but can't help it :)
but thank you for telling me about the CPU. Also, is that what android and Symbians are? different types of CPU's? If yes which one is better?
