Galaxy S VS HTC Desire
This is my own opinion having owned bot handsets.
Calls- I find the Galaxy S to have much better call signal and reception overall. On my Desire I found a constantly crackling noise in the background and poor signal most of the time.( Vodafone is my provider and normally good)
Loudspeaker- Again Galaxy wins this by miles as Desire has probably worst mic/speaker I have came accross on a phone.
Interface-Desire wins hands down with HTC Sense and overall much more user friendly.
Speed-Desire again wins on this sections being much quicker navigating around the phone and has no lag what so ever whereas Galaxy does lag from time to time.
Battery life- Galaxy wins this sections by a long way. I really struggled to get 1 day from Desire but Galaxy can go for 2 days with all extras open and ful brightness.
Video player-Both screens looks amazing but Galaxy wins this section and still to come accross a file that Galaxy S will not play.
Camera- This is a tough call, Galaxy wins for photo performance but without flash can cause problems sometime.
WIFI- Excellent on both phones and probably same performance.
Video recording. GALAXY BY MILES-quality is stunning on recording video in good light but because quite poor in low light but that can be expected.
Desire has terrible video quality even when upgraded to Froyo and sound when recording was WORST I HAVE EXPERIENCED ON ANY HANDSET.
Sound on Galaxy S when video recording is just acceptable but nothing as good as Nokia N95 or most nokia phones whcih is a shame, Why develope such amazing HD video with average sound.
I hope this will help some decide which phone is best for there needs.
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2010desire or x10?dont buy x10... SE hasnt released android 2.1 stilll, it may be coming in a short while bt desire is 2.2 upgradable!! so make smart choice buddy!
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2010desire or x10?Desire is an all-rounded phone while X10 excels in camera and music, that's about it.
If you want good camera and music, X10 will be good for you. If not, Desire should be the better choice.
Desire offers better web surfing experience, it's faster, it has a nicer screen due to AMOLED/S-LCD technology, it has multi-touch, it has better sound quality for calls, it has HTC Sense(arguably the best UI in the market now as most reviewers say), HTC has a better support than Sony Ericsson, it runs froyo, and the list of benefits gets longer from here.
listen.. evry1's needs are different, ive had a desire since march and... its the best smartfone i've had... thats what i thought until i received 'froyo'... now... its the best fone EVER!!! 4 me! i've had a E71, G1, hero, bberry + wildfire and its better. the iphone is good too, its all about preference u numptys... he he he he
Stay away from this phone, while tech support is outstanding, the phone itself is a piece of crap. Great features and all, but a big overheating issue that has caused forums, concerns and complaints to pop everywhere. I've had mine for about three months now and I can't even carry it in my pocket because it will get warm and when I start using it it reboots itself and it get worst over time. Like I said, stay away from this phone, cause it sucks!!!
Radu, 12 Oct 2010Nokia n8 or htc desire?help plzzWhat do you use your mobile phone for usually?
If it's surfing the web, playing games, then Desire may be what you need.
If you take pictures with friends often,or if you listen to music often, or if you use it for heavy workload, then N8 may be the one you are looking for.

Nokia has been the best company in creating a MOBILE PHONE, which includes good battery, good sound quality, pocket friendly etc. They failel only because they lose out on the "add-on" features, like OS, internet browsing experience etc.
You can also read up on reviews. They all say N8 has a good battery life.
Check out my review of Desire here

Is there any one tried using SRS 5.1 on HTC Desire?
Is there any apps we can install who is SRS competable ?

Geet Singh, 12 Oct 2010I havent used iPhone 4. So really cant comment on it.
However, poor battery feature in HTC ... moreLiar, Nokia is famous for their extremly poor batteries that makes their phones not really "mobile" at all.
N8 and Symbian3 is a toy for children, with an absurd bulky camera on the back of the phone.
David, London, UK, 12 Oct 2010Hi all, would people please stop moaning about the battery life and do a little research. Open... moreThat bulky battery is no option, it is better to buy an extra "original" battery, takes less weight and place in my pocket, to swap when the first one runs out.
Hi all, would people please stop moaning about the battery life and do a little research. Open your eyes and the solution is simple right in front of you. Once again, I'll repost my previous post. Please refer to the below and pass on to all other smart phone users. Also advise those who intend to get a smart phone too so that they know they can enjoy their battery.
HTC Desire was pefect for me but I was hesitant about the battery. I know all smart phones have poor batteries. I am never keen on the idea of charging the phone daily. Also I play games on my phone so I wanted a beast of a battery. Anyway with a little online research, I have found you can buy extended batteries on the internet. If you google search HTC Desire Mugen 3200 battery or Seidio Innocell HTC Desire, you will see batteries that are twice, three times or even four times stronger than the one that comes with the phone. So those worried about the battery life, her is the solution. Also if you type in you tube search engine, "your phone model" followed by the word "Extended Battery", you will see further info. Thank God I didn't get an iphone4. Thank God I am finally left Nokia. Thank God for Android and the Taiwan wonder HTC
