After lots of confusion I have finally short listed this model. I'm currently using Nokia E 72.
If some body is using this HTC I have few questions to ask.
1. What is your Experience with this model compared to Hero or Legend.
2. Can we Create PDF, Excel & Word Files?
3. Overall what is the final rating (0 to 10) ?
4. What other option should we consider in this price range
I am eagerly waiting for a expert comment & hands on experience.
is this phone has handwriting like write chinese caracters? plse asw me back thx
why htc desire dont have Enough internal memory for install applications and games ?? how to work this problem . internal memory issue is killing me . I think if the program can be installed on SD card will solve the problem.
this is an excellent phone, if htc can fix the overheat and restart problem.
David, London, UK, 24 Sep 2010Just to add to my below first message, when I mean three hoours to charge, I mean in the manua... moreDavid all the old htc desire will say amoled screen on the box if it dose not you got the new Super LED screen which i think is better i have the SLED screen on my desire as well. [deleted post]@Sagar - I just got my Desire yday, the first thing I checked was the current O/S installed, it was Android 2.1 and then I checked the Software Update - I got the message of Upgrade to Android 2.2 and HTC Sense.
So U can make it out that Android 2.2 FROYO IS FINALLY HERE IN INDIA.
I bought it from market and not from any telecom provider.
So go ahead and buy.
Great phone. I was using E-72 but Desire on its part is Very Good handset.
Im finding difficult to use Touch Screen after such a long time but will get used to.
Fast.....Screen Quality Superb.
Touch Screen sensitivity Superb.
Camera also good.
Overall furnish also good.
Charging takes time. Battery Life, after 1 day use, I "might" agree with others that is less BUT NOT VERY LESS.
If u buy Desire, then download Android 2.2 via WIFI and not thru normal GPRS as I did from GPRS and took long time and long CONTINOUS usage of GPRS on handset makes it warm.
Froyo is indeed fast with lots of features and the biggest of them to transfer the files frm Phone Memory to SD Card as Under Android 2.1 All applications Store under Phone memory which is just 139 MB available frm 580 odd memory(rest used by handset).
Android O/S is just fantastic.
Before, I never cared that which O/S my handset carried as never saw or heard of applications that are available on Android but after yesterday, Symbian truly Sucks.
Android is full of Apps of all kinds.
Desire is on a bit costly side, costed me 26990/- but better than Iphone at current time or atleast at par on every feature.
before i have iphone 3gs....when i buy htc desire last week...wow....super fast,,,i love it my desire...love it!!!
Excellent phone, always had Nokia phones and glad i purchased the HTC Desire, has many features and its incredibily fast. apps are plentiful too
the only downside is battery life and accidental volume changes with the side buttons.
To all who replied,
Thanks a ton guys, appreciate ur valuable responses.
Sumtimes oso my Desire cn organise me, e.g wake me up bt it cnt bath me thou.. wt u thk anonymous??
Just to add to my below first message, when I mean three hoours to charge, I mean in the manual it says I should charge it for three hours as its the phone first charge. I'll update to Android 2.2 tonight which I am told by colleague who has the phone takes 30 minutes to do update via WIFI. I am so happy I have left Nokia. Like all politicians say, its time for change. I am home now with HTC and Android.
I finally got my HTC Desire today. For those living in the UK, I purchased it SIM Free/Unlocked from a shop in Walthamstow, East London (£330/Brand New). I use it with a Fixed 30 day rolling contract from T Mobile which I can cancel anytime. For those interested, the 30 day rolling contract is £28 per month, includes 900 free minutes, 500 free texts and unlimited internet. The phone I bought independantly. The phone has 3 hours to charge. How do I know if my model has an Amoled or SLCD screen? The box doesnt illustrate this neither does the manual. Is there a reference number or code on the box? Right now I will buy a screen protector from Amazon and a case/pouch.
