If you have upgraded the phone before you had files in it, are you still able to have files in the SD card?
i've just bought my htc desire. i put the sim card put the battery inside, i press the power button and the screen shows the htc logo and its stuck for an hour. i dont know what to do.i tryed takeing off the battery and then puting it on again but it is happening the same thing again!
Hellllp !!! i cant start my new phone
[deleted post]Better is very subjective. It is more of which phone suits you better.
However, I can suggest some strong competitors for x10 and Desire. Samsung Galaxy S comes to my mind. We also have iPhone 4 if you will, Nexus One, which is a "twin" of Desire, Samsung Wave. N8 may be worth considering when it's out.

One minor issue that I thought I would want to bring up:
You can no longer back up your data on your SD card on 2.2 froyo. In other words, if you were to factory reset your phone, all your data will be gone.
Can anybody advise on how to forward sms? How about sending of business card? I am unable to use both functions.
hi all, 13 Sep 2010He was talking about 3G, not wifi. Anyway, I have not face that problem before, so I guess it ... moreThank you very much for the reply :)
so desire is pretty much made for wifi right? Not really for 3G?
Are there any other bugs or flaws (that are common) of this phone that I should know if

chethan, 13 Sep 2010What is the advantages of froyo 2.2??? N pls anybody tell me is froyo update available in ind... morehi, froyo is faster compared to eclair, it's easy on cpu, brings wifi tethering, flash 10.1 support to the browser, boosts video performance by a whisker.
chethan, 13 Sep 2010What is the advantages of froyo 2.2??? N pls anybody tell me is froyo update available in ind... moreFroyo supports Adobe flash which is not present in previous versions and also this OS is lot more optimized in every aspect like multitasking, browsing etc. With Froyo you can install apps to SD card instead of phones memory. Yes it is available for officially unlocked phones in India. Not sure about contract phones bought from West and unlocked later.
[deleted post]If price is not an issue, Desire beats Aria in all aspects.
Is there any free app. available to make avi files play on this phone???

@new, 12 Sep 2010How do we find out that HTC Desire is having SLCD or AMOLED?it says on your box. or check your model number online
[deleted post]Galaxy s better.... mmmmm.... apart from NO LED Notification Light & no Led flash.
The LED Notification light is essential on a phone & Samsung are stupid not putting it on there phones, thats why I will stay away from Samsung until they add this basic feature to there phones.
TC, 13 Sep 2010I installed OpenDesire, forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768624 It solved all my con... moreI found that in OpenDesire I can move many more apps to the SD-card so the amount of user available memory to install apps is actually larger in OpenDesire :)
I installed OpenDesire, forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768624
It solved all my connection-problems and even thogh I still can not connect to the network "Sweden" the "Telenor" network works perfectly and I never loose my 3G-connection. OpenDesire is great, BUT there in no FM-radio bur I guess I can live without all those commercial interuptions and now listen even more to Spotify and LastFM. OpenDesire is Froyo, and I installed Adobe Flash 10.1 from the Android Market. Another smal problem with OpenDesire is that the amount of user available memory to install apps got even smaller.
This proves that there is a real problem with HTC Desire connection-software. (Galaxy S does not have any connection-problems, but a lot of "lagging"-problems...)
Desire is still "the Android-King".
WOW this phone is awesome. the processor is fast, the screen unreal & the overall build is much better than anything i've had before.
I will be getting my first HTC phone at the end of this month or at the latest, the end of October. The HTC Desire was pefect for me but I was hesitant about the battery. I know all smart phones have poor batteries. I am never keen on the idea of charging the phone daily. Also I play games on my phone so I wanted a beast of a battery. Anyway with a little online research, I have found you can buy extended batteries on the internet. If you google search HTC Desire Mugen 3200 battery or Seidio Innocell HTC Desire, you will see batteries that are twice, three times or even four times stronger than the one that comes with the phone. So those worried about the battery life, her is the solution. Thank God I didn't get an iphone4. Thank God I am finally leaving Nokia. Thank God for Android and the Taiwan wonder HTC.
