Hi all, Is there any problem in using a SCREEN GUARD on my HTC Desire? Will it affect the TOUCH SCREEN PERFORMANCE in any way? Pls comment...
I've been using this phone for a bout a week now..1 have only 2 complaints - 1- they could have come up with better speakers for the phone| 2-The battery life, it doesnt last long, From morning 9am (At 100%, by noon and i have made 2-3 calls (less than 5 mins) and few sms - its at 66%. The battery management is very poor. I have turned off the HSPA and WiFi connection but it still sucks up the battery. When using Google Map and driving around with directions, the battery is drained much faster. For such an expensive phone, they could have come up with better battery package.
Just got the HTC desire, Hands on with the phone and its a nifty little thing, good at what it can do, but bad at what it can't do.
I have an orange branded handset straight from the network and I am un-impressed what orange have done. The have loaded software such as orange app’s, orange home screen, orange ringtones along with Monopoly demo, Uno demo and Tetris. Fair enough if you don’t want this on the handset like me you should be able to delete these but it’s not possible. It will only let you delete the things you install and nothing that is pre-installed on the handset which make you feel like the phone is only half yours and the other half belongs to the network. The only way I can see possible to change this is to ‘Jailbreak/Root’ the phone so you can access the admin ROMs and this will in effect void the warranty.
Sorry orange but you have wrecked a perfect phone here by installing all this crap, my mind is made up and I am returning it!

I'm still waiting for the HTC desire to arrive. According to vodafone the demand is great. I got HTC HD2 since December 2009, after 2 months it breakdown until now it's plaring up, not good phone to be honest..the review is better but in truth you will regret it..
the desire is a brilliant handset with a feature rich platform and unparalleled user friendliness and experience. The problem is that the many features degrade battery life significantly and therefore result in poor battery performance. It is also quite costly if you do not have a data package with your provider as the phone is constantly downloading data(rss feeds and facebook etc)I have recently acquired the handset and am beyond happy with it excepting the high data charges and poor camera and battery performance.I would rate a 9.5/10
Dear all HTC fan,
I have owned my desire nearly 3 weeks now. this phone is really a desire phone. but I hope the release of 2.2 from HTC is more sooner. I wait to experience the 2.2 plateform.
Trying to decide between this and the HTC hd2...is the latter too big? I dont want to run around with a phone bulging in my pocket...
Anonymous, 14 Jul 2010How is the battery life on this phone? Can you go a full day without charging? No it cannot go 24 hours. I am getting 14 at the moment. But I'm using a push mail service that is probably causing this. Will need to wait for Saturday to turn this off to see how it affects battery life.

You can't trust that Samsung will keep supporting this phone in the future (among the multiple other phones they release each month), or that Bada can compete with the big boys like iOS, Android, Symbian...
So, I think with the Wave you will have an old phone by the end of this year.
With a Desire you are getting about 100,000 apps, an update this year to a new firmware (2.2), and an update next year to even newer firmware version (3.0).
