htc desire, the best phone ever
i bought mu desire and i will not change my phone again
i love this phone
Could anyone please check if their Micro USB charger goes all the way into the HTC Desire. Because mines only goes half the way in (not completely) but it holds fine and charges, but it just looks wrong.
Anyone has the same issue?
Love it but battery runs out quickly when the internet is left on and to enjoy the special fetchers of this phone you need the net for updates ect but still a wicked phone and lots of fun no regrets .
well guys, i'm not happy after 2 days of using desire......Battery run out quickly and charging takes up to 3hrs, voice in video recording is totally bad, speaker voice quality is bad, & didn't expect that big.i dont know what else
I've owned my Desire for two weeks now and whilst not a smartphone virgin I'm still learning its quirks. My previous personal phone is a SE w890 which to a point still works, a good little phone, reasonable camera easy to use and 'okay' battery life. My work phone is an o2 Serra (HTC Raphael) my third Windows mobile and and a frustrating piece of sh1t:-( I've even gone back to a stock rom to make it usable). Anyway my Desire...
It's a good phone, several android issues like multitasking - does everything stay open in the background? (tip- load a task killing app)
As you probably already know it's got a good display, not too brilliant outside but usable. Speed – well no complaints at all, it's fine. The capacitive screen works well, even the text prediction. Phone use, no complaints either. Speaker quality is good, the person on the other end sounds okay to me. Loudspeaker is a bit weak – a bit like my Garmin Sat nav... it just needs to be slightly bigger. (Bigger speaker = bigger phone?) I'm a little undecided about the camera, it's okay, flash gives a bit too much 'white' eye, but outdoors it's ok. Reliability, well after two weeks use it's not crashed, slowed down or hung on me – it just works, reception seems okay too, no better or worse than my other phones.
One slight issue for me, I've receiving my Three fair usage warning after just over one week, normal web pages are surprising large:-)
Other peoples complaints:
Battery life – I've found this okay, I've used a smart phone for several years now, so I know to charge it every night. However, someday's I've only used it for maybe 2-3 texts, a couple calls and a few Facebook or Twitter updates and I'm coming home with 70% battery left. To me that's not bad for the size of screen.
Size wise it's fine, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering such a big phone after a tiny se, but it's reasonably slim and it's fine. The screen with buttons below are perfect.
How it could be improved...well nothing major, a few android issues like app atorage – resolved in v2.2 I believe. HD Video recording - I had been looking at the Vivaz, a phone of this spec should really record in HD and at a decent frame rate too. Headphones – the supplied ones aren't brilliant, the normal Sony buds I use with my ipod make the music jump:-( Radio doesn't show rds either (is that been really picky?)
Ive had my desire for 3 days now and think the battery life is actually good as long as you turn wifi off when out and about, brightness is set at a good level, camera is good and call quality is decent too

'Cos i can never 4get my experience with X1. Besides, what use is a phone without battery? Afterall when Nokia can make a high efficiency charger that can full your battery in 45mins.,who has the time to charge for 10 hrs? Chinese, may be,and China phones!
So, no thank you, I will wait for Nokia N8.
For those who r wondering abou the battery, i have the htc desire n my battery life can last to 3 days without using it.. if i use it, it can last for 1 n a half day. Screen brightness to the brightest, web browsing for an hour, gaming for for an hour. Quite good for a pda. The screen is very good with Amoled..
Anonymous, 28 May 2010Can Anyone who z usin DESIRE tell me the CALL QUALITY or VOICE QUALITY in earpiece & speak... moreI returned 4 Desires for this very fault you mention about the extremely poor call quality and weak signal.
Its a strange one because even if you plug in headphones you still get the very same crackle noise when on calls, the other person does not hear this but just the person on the desires.
Here are my reasons for giving up the desire all together and moving to another phone which I will not say to save upsetting the kids who then start thinking you must be a NOKIA/SONY/SAMSUNG fan.
Very annoying crackle sound on every call made or received.
Video recording very poor, the so call auto focus only gets focused on what ever you select at the start of the recording therefor when you move onto something else it will be blur.
The built in MIC for video recording is the worst I have ever experienced on a mobile phone, and remember I sent back 4 of these phones and same problem existed on every one. When you try play your video back on phone its sounds shocking poor due to the very poor speaker also on the Desire, playing back on a laptop or plug in headphone will make it slightly better but still so poor overall.
Also HTC will never in a million years release this so called upgrade to HD video because even if they do videos in my opinion on this phone are just a joke due to POOR MIC QUALITY.
