pH1, 21 Apr 2010fair enuf, thoughts on htc evo 4? i personally think the design of evo 4 is gr8 and its specs ... morei did think about evo 4 but it's 4G and it's not really usable in Singapore and its size is bigger than Desire and i have no idea when it will be released either haha. as for legend, it loses out to Desire in terms of processing power that's it. no problem dude, healthy discussions are welcome! and not forgetting Desire's AMOLED screen FTW!
Out of the box is runs great ... battery life is a little sad but what can you expect theses days have to charge each day. That screen is soooooo nice
actualy the sound quality could be better and i could live with a snap button for pictures on the side of the phone. well, show me a phone which has everything and cook my dinner too. sound quality=nokia x6
I have been using my desire for around 3 weeks by now. It is better than iphone. thats it! Only one thing was not better for me in the first few days. it is the apps. iphone has so many apps. then i had to realize, i can access almost everything on the internet. i just dont need those apps because my web browser is capable of almost everything. i could even stream my favorite radio (and not some stupid winamp radio), i also could stream some live tv from ustream. very impressed. it said sometime that it doesnt support flash 10. but which phone does? none! i think. anyway, the advertisement is right. now, everyone else is behind you! :)
I was in no way rubbishing the Deisre. I think it is a terrific phone but just did not find the sound from the loundspeaker very good. No equalizer to adjust the sound which was very tinny.
The X10 is also a very good phone but again did not find the sound from that loudspeaker as good as it should be for the money.
Just my 2 cents. Chill out baby!!
The best GPS software released so far for Android is Igo. http://www.igomyway.com/android/en/overview.html

sry to keep bugging u if u hv ur mind set on the htc desire.

Igo and Navigon are famous for its turn-by-turn navigation software and I don't now what you could want more from navigation then these two. Of course all mentioned apps work just on gps signal, you dont need internet connection.

--> have u considered waiting for incredible, which according to gsmarena is expected to release Q2. verizon is rumored to hv accidently leaked the release date as april 29 2010 so its probably gna come out soon. it might be delayed but idk.
"Damn it! I have been surviving on SE K750i (yes laugh all you want haha!) for 4 years :("
--> lol i know what its like to deal with not only outdated phones, but phones that simply wont work. i hv an original n95. when they came out they were pretty good. now the 4, 5, and 6 number pad buttons dont work. i decided i to give up on trying to live with it and got the "very high tech and spec intense phone" that is: neonode n2. (now bankrupt) i hv high end phones now but im surprised at how great the touchscreen of the neonode n2 is. it is/was the only phone company to ever use optical touchscreen which is far better than both resistive and capacitive. a little history might be good too. neonode was the 1st company to recognize gestures on a touchscreen such as flick finger to scroll thru menus and the famous slide to unlock. anyway if u can wait, i wud suggest you do so bcos the incredible has a few specs which are better than the desire. i personally wud h8 it if i just bought a new phone and the newer model of it came out right away. compare them:

u might want to look at andnav2. its free but it doesnt support every country and might not work at all. also u might wna check out:
mapdroyd (i heard u can store maps to sd card, but not the app itself)
gps - 1 click direction
u get the idea. there r some but most r paid for monthly/yearly.
if u do live in uk u also now have the free google navigation
good luck finding the 1 u want.
