Anonymous, 17 Apr 2010Snake there is no other way the only way is store all app into ur LIMITED memory available in ... moreTo say the truth, limited memory to store apps is not a problem for me, as a new phone with so many ups and a few downs is definitely acceptable, none of the phone out there are perfect that is how the mobile company can keep persuade all consumers to keep buy new phone and stay ahead on technology, even if you buy htc desire or se x10 now, a few months later, better phones will keep coming out again and again, what i think is choose the phone suits you and meets your needs, dun like it just leave it and no need to say good or bad, every piece of technology is an art from the inventor. Just enjoy it. Cheers.
Please help, is it possible to set the calender reminder from weekly to fortnightly on the HTC desire.
PS: I've had the Desire for 2 days now, i have to say it is the best phone i have ever had. My wife owns the Iphone 3GS, we live in a weak reception area where the iphone keeps cutting out during calls. We will be changing her iphone to the HTC desire as reception is excellent. Thanks, Gav.
http://androidforums.com/support/1216-saving-applications-sd-card.html this is complaint of what they say about ALL APPS only can store in limited memory in the phone
Snake there is no other way the only way is store all app into ur LIMITED memory available in ur HTC desire or JAILBREAK ur phone.ALL maybe wait till GOOGLE come out new version of Android OS 2.5...err i dont think will be so soon .... TO ALL BE WARNED all app onlycan store in ur limited memory phone
why do people compare the screen size using the diagonal length of the screen.A 3.7 inches screen is bigger if it has a square shape more than a rectangular shape. That's why the iphone screen looks bigger than the desire's screen although the iphone is 3.5 compared to the 3.7 of the desire.
Does anyone know how to root the device and install apps on the storage card? you only loose your warranty if you root your device right? are there any other problems beside that?
For those who is buying this phone or any other android phone jus be warned: ALL APPS only can be installed into a internal memory.
This is the problem tat people facing when using a Android Phone. http://androidforums.com/support/1216-saving-applications-sd-card.html
UNLESS u know the technical way in JAILBREAKING ur Android phone or find a bigger internal memory for a Android Phone like the latest Samsung 8gig memory Galaxy S phone
battery life was an issue for me for the first few days but seems to have settled down. i can get 2 days with moderate use now.
run your battery down till it won't switch on then do a full recharge overnight (phone switched off), i done that a couple of times and my battery is fine now. if your going to be on it all day though you've got to expect it to go down fast.
there are loads of tips and tricks on android forums to ge the most out of your phone and battery life, you just have to look around a bit.
I am Writing this review
from my HTC desire
Altogether this is an amazing phone
I have nothing bad to say about it except for the battery life which seriously don't mind because of the great functions the phone has to offer the new Android 2.1 or something is excellent and the live wall papers are stunning all displayed on the large nd easy to use Jr looking screen I used it for a day with most of the apps running and it got through the day and didn't need a charge till quite late
One day of charging may not seem much to people like me who have previously used Nokia phones but still I don't think it was that bad
I have tried iPhone and x10 this was the net one mainly due to the HTC interface which in my opinion is better than iPhone OS
The multi touch feature was also good as it helped browsing and flash also helped
The camera is very good
There are many apps on the Android market and almost all other are very good unlike the ones on the itunes app store as at Apple they go for quantity rather than quality.
These were he opinions of a 15 year old so read so read some other review if you found this not lousy
i have had a good play with both the x10 and this and fact is theyre both good phones but both have their own good points and bad points. ive heard that a lot of the X10's had battery problems so lets just relax and be happy that for those of us who didnt want the iphone now have a couple of good, high spec alternatives to choose from
I was seriously dieing to buy this or the X10, but when i found out that there is barely any reserve for apps on the android OS, i decided to stick with my iphone i mean literally the maximum i can get is 500 mb for apps out of the x10 and only 120 from the desire just because apps cant be installed to an sd card -_-!
I am gonna wait for android with atleast 8gigs of internal memory...
Sony Ericsson have already said the X10 will not be capable of multi touch due "hardware constraints".
And Jesus Christ I have never heard so much unnecessary whinging about one thing (the battery) in all my life!
hamid, 16 Apr 2010hey budy why you are so mad
x10 with up to 2.1 has a 16 m colors dispaly and some guys says ... more"hey budy why you are so mad"
--> y do u think so? cant i criticize ur points?
"x10 with up to 2.1 has a 16 m colors dispaly"
--> it will still have worse dpi and remain tft. the image quality on the desires screen will be better no matter what software upgrades SE does to it.
"and some guys says the black x10 has multi touch here
--> the product manager said it wont. some unknown guy claims it will. wen it gets multitouch (if at all) then u can argue that as an input method. if the product manager did get it wrong, well that says a lot about the ppl managing the company...
"and camera is very important for many users"
--> i didnt say it wasnt. i said if it rly was important to users, they wud choose a 12mpx phone, which takes better pictures and video.
"x10 design is beTter, desire design is very simple and boring"
--> ok i admit the design of se x10 is better. but if u wud only buy a phone bcos of its design u wud probably end up with an iphone.
"and if u read my comment i say x10 over desire
internal memory desire over x10 ram size"
--> and if u read my comment i say that total memory is greater on the desire bcos of its more expandable.
"at the last x10 is better from desire"
--> wrong again
got my desire couple of days ago and the battery is terrible, ive had smartphones and my recent iphone and im lucky if i can get half out of this damn thing. even if i use it as a phone and leave everything off it wont last a full day without a charge. My sister has the X10 and the batttery life on that is fine so i think ill be going for a Sony, obviously the years of experience in creating phones paid off. sorry but im not a fan id give this phone 5 out of 10
anyone buying this phone be warned the battery is the worst of alsmot every smartphone out there, HTC need to adress this issue
