Does anyone know if it will be able to run WM7? I heard it needs a spec of at least 1Ghz in CPU which is exactly what this phone has, but will I be able to get this phone right now, and wait till windows mobile 7 comes out, and I can just bring it to the HTC shop and "legally" put in WM7?
By 'legally' it means there is no emulation invovled, that HTC designed it to be able to run WM7 without problems, that the shop will put in a legitimate WM7, etc.
Please, anyone know?
wow this is an awsome phone
got this on tmobile uk
160 for the handset + 10 pounds a month contract
very reponsive, no lag like my htc hero had

I'm writing this on my new desire. In short, its amazing. Lightning fast and handles fine when running multiple apps. Screen is very responsive and colours are bright and sharp - 65k looks black and white in comparison. Daylight visibility isn't amazing, though its workable and much better than my old omnia i900. Had to choose between this and the HTC hd2 and I'm sure I've chosen wisely... even walks all over the iPhone in my opinion. I'd very much recommend it. Rating: 9/10, all it misses is a little internal memory (though it works from micro SD beautifully) and a bit more sunlight prowess... still, this is THE must have toy for 2010. :)
really great phone, such a shame that htc phones are so hard to get in indonesia..
anyone know when there will be in indonesia?

Just ordered mine from Vodafone and been delivered Weds!!!
Wow great phone. Definitely going to get it once it come to singapore! anyone knows when? *.*
Now had mine 4 days. Generally all positive things to say. Android is very intuative, some useful apps freely available. Screen is great and the phone is very customisable. A pity that a noise cancelling microphone was omitted as there is some background hiss. If anyone knows of any remedy, perhaps software based, this would be REALLY useful to know about, as it is the biggest downer I find at the moment. Battery life could do with enhancing as well, so that you have the confidence it will get you through the day.

I wanted to get the HD2 but this one seems better. Can any desire user tell me about the battery life ,audio quality ,screen responsiveness and speed.
have just traded in my iphone 3gs for this desire and was best idea i have ever had. phone is more polished than iphone and gives more freedom to have the phone how you want rather than how apple say you must. flash on the website is fantastic and a great feature when browsing the internet. if apple would just sort this out maybe i wouldnt have left.
Jayne, 03 Apr 2010thanks Andy. I went into carphonewarehouse today and they would not sell me it on payasyougo... moreThat's strange saying that I thought it was only available on contract atm but the salesman did say he was just back of holiday so maybe he mis sold it to me, re: mms herring etc. Maybe cos I put my o2 contract sim in the settings are saved to sim
Jayne, 03 Apr 2010thanks Andy. I went into carphonewarehouse today and they would not sell me it on payasyougo... moreJayne, there's no official settings for the Desire on networks for MMS and web yet, you'll have to get them to send you settings for a similar phone. E.G The HTC Hero. Worked for me :)
mac, 01 Apr 2010this is 21st century. no bluetooth transfer. It does have bluetooth file transfer, got mine yesterday and it is absolutely brilliant.
andreas, 03 Apr 2010i am between milestone and htc desire..give me some reasons to make a choice!!i've just bought my milestone.
So, the most important thing is, do you have a big hand(or palm is it?) coz, this 3.7" monster wouldn't feel comfortable on small hand.
i honestly wouldn't suggest any phones that is wider than 3.5", if you wish to use it single handedly.
