Gingerbread for HTC Desire with 2.1 Sense is on the way!!!!!
I have been eagerly waiting for the gingerbread update since March 2010 but it seems that Htc doesnt want to deploy the next version of android for the most successful htc handset. Its discouraging for all htc desire user's.
[deleted post]hi sir! extra lang ako.. hehe.
i would suggest you to go for htc desire... one big difference of htc phones over other phones is the
Htc Sense User Interface..
heres a link explaining what you will get from Htc that you wont from samsung...
actually, the phone featured here is htc hero(htc desire's grandpa). so expect htc desire to be a lot better version than this one.
this is the very reason i went and will still go for Htc phones over other brands.. Htc Sense Ui is just Amazingly Great!
pinoy from rizal, 03 Jun 2011go for desire, classy looks, proven and fast internet, great multimedia.. i had mine since feb... moreKababayan!!

Would you know if this phone can still be updated to gingerbread??
vonnn, 03 Jun 2011Hi, I am about to buy a phone and im choosing between this phone or the samsung i9003 as both... morego for desire, classy looks, proven and fast internet, great multimedia.. i had mine since feb21 of this year, no hangs, no freeze inspite of my "abusive" use.. task killers are a dime a dozen at android marketplace, if you ask me these are not much of a use for me since im content with my battery life
I am about to buy a phone and im choosing between this phone or the samsung i9003 as both have almost the same price. can i ask if this phone has a "built-in" task killer?? And in our counrty, the Philippines, when you buy this phone, its already updated to the froyo version. can this phone still be updated with gingerbread?? which do you guys think is the better phone to buy between the 2?? Thanks!!!
desire owner, 30 May 2011Android Gingerbread operatingsystem has been out since december 2010, disapointing is the fact... moreHTC have CONFIRMED that the desire will get gingerbread in Q2 this year so it will happen in the next few months
Great phone! it has verything i need. Great camera, awsome pics and videos. Battery should be better ..
Android Gingerbread operatingsystem has been out since december 2010, disapointing is the fact that HTC has no update for the desire(smart phone?).
Not good for HTC's reputation.
It seems thisway these phones will never perform to their ability.
Maybe therefore the Iphone is a beter product, just as the google nexus phones.
HTC needs to step up to the plate now in order to show the quality of the company and their smartphones.
Specifications of a phone doesn't mean anything anymore.
Anonymous, 27 May 2011thanks for send a nice reply regarding HTC DESIRE but i have one question about the music play... morehi there!
im using my desire as music player and playing it through headphones and loud speakers.. its quite decent for me..
first of all, u should be using a quality earphones and listening to quality track bit rate (preferably 256 kbps or higher) for u to hear tracks at its best...
second, pick a track that suits u..
i usually use Black eyed peas tracks ("the time" or "boom boom pow") whenever i test media players. their tracks always have the separation of bass and bass drum .. and its really one of my priorities..
ok heres my review..
Headphones - i personally use Sennheiser HD 205 and ipod earphones .. and the sound is crisp.. u can hear the bass separately from the bass drum. maxing out its volume really produces loud but still in excellent quality... BUT... in my opinion, apple ipod still delivers better loudness and music quality than desire. i own both and i tried listening to a single track ("the time"). one thing i noticed is the sound produced by ipod (using headphones) is really a step better than desire, another thing is the volume.. maximum volume of ipod is 2 steps louder than desire's max vol. but dont get me wrong, desire's music performance Does Not Suck, its actually Superb for a mobile phone. ipod is just a "little" better in delivering music through headphones/earphones.
Loud Speakers - Far Better than Apple iPhones thats for sure.. but just dont expect it will sound like Bose or Bang&Olufsen speakers.. it delivers nice and crisp sound, pretty decent max volume loudness (not very loud though)..but still maintaining a good quality sound.
and in this category ipods and iphones sucks.. damn.. i dont know where apple gets its loud speakers from. i just hope they'll improve on that in their future mobile devices..
