I own an HTC desire for about a year now.
There is no real multi-touch in the HTC desire, google "htc desire multi-touch problem" and see videos (same problem as in nexus one phone) - compare it to competitors and see the difference.
Also, HTC customer service is the worst I've ever encountered - you'll state your problem, they will pretend not to understand and will suggest shipping for repairs, repairs will do nothing and return the product as it is, I have struggled for 2 months before giving up.
Had I known about all this a year ago I would have skipped this product and HTC altogether.

hauu, 26 Apr 2011hey guys.. im planning to get a desire here.. so i would like to ask a few question about the ... moreGPS works perfectly good.
The Google maps in HTC Desire includes compass, and the map will rotate as you take turns on road.
I travelled in Goa\India on a bike with this mobile, and could reach all destinations using GPS with 100% accuracy.
The only drawback I see with this mobile is the phone memory. User available memory is 148 MB. Out of this, around 60 MB will be used by "must-have" apps like gmail, facebook, phonebook contacts, some media player, antivirus etc.
If you have the extra $75, go with any other HTC Android device having more than 1 GB phone memory (aka internal storage). Otherwise Desire is the best!

Nemesis, 24 Apr 2011I am planning to buy x10 or Htc but i want a good camera good screen, good music quality and ... moreDo NOT go for the X10. I seriously dont understand why people go for smartphones when they are looking for things like camera, sound. A smartphone should first of all be a GOOD smartphone(ie no lag, good UI etc.). Which the X10 is seriously not. If you want camera and all go for feature phones. And btw even the desires multimedia capabilities are good. Though no doubt erricson's better in multimedia
