I was also choosing between HTC Desire 500 and Samsung Galaxy S II Plus, and I took HTC, because it is newer, looks better and if you really compare the specs, HTC is a bit better. Although the Samsung GSII Plus came out recently, it is still kinda outdated. HTC is brand new and there will be many updates to come. I'm really pleased with the phone. For a mid-range one, it is really a great device. So if you don't know what to choose, think if you want a good-old-classic (a newer version of a classic) or something more modern and innovatiove.
Hope this little ''review'' helps you!

What should i choose between the desire 500 and the samsung s2 plus? From what i've seen they're pretty much the same regarding specs. Also, how does the desire 500's quad-core processor compare to s2 plus' dual-core?
jenny , 27 Oct 2013can any one tell me do this pone have FM, i heard it doesn't yes it has FM.
I desparately want to know if HTC desire 500 supports Miracast(Screen mirroring).I know it supports DLNA(Media files can be displayed on TV wirelessly) but exact screen mirroring is as far as I know is only possible if it supports Miracast based on Wifi-direct.HTC desire 600 specs shows it supports Miracast but HTC Desire 500 specs no where seen mentioning about wifi-direct or miracast. Please somebody help me clear my confusion if they have practically used this feature on HTC 500.
I bought HTC Desire 500 recently after lot of deliberation, infact I exchanged by HTC Desire X as it was in HTC (14 Days return policy) :)
And after unveiling my New HTC desire 500, it has not stopped to amaze me with spectacular performance in all imp. aspects. Brilliant photographs, smooth interface and maneuverability..Just Loving it each passing day..
Personal advise for my friend who is confused just like me after reading all the misleading comments on various review sites..
GUYS..Desire 500 is Must have & Gr8 Value.

I had a question..screen specs for HTC 500 show its TFT capacitive touch and since you have used samsung s3 too, its super AMOLED, did you find any difference in the look and feel of the interface between both. I haven't used a smart phone before, so wanted to understand. Thanks in advance.
