Do you about internals of htc desire 501 like cpu. HTC is, even today, a relatively small player in the smartphone industry. Other than big countries and cities, people dont recognize the brandname, unlike sony, samsung and nokia. The Taiwanese company is adding new chipset partners to supply chipsets beside Qualcomm. The new HTC chip suppliers include Spreadtrum, Broadcom and ST Ericsson due to low cost. The new HTC Desire 501, for example, has a 1.15GHz dual-core ST Ericsson U8520 processor powering it, while the Desire 601 uses a 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom Java SoC. The Desire 700, carries a 1.2GHz quad-core Spreadtrum Shark chip, leaving only the Desire 300 on regular Qualcomm's 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4.

However, HTC is actually using this new opportunity not to offer lower prices, but rather to increase margins, a strategy that's risky.

Now lets talk about 501 which currently being used by me.The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly bean with Sense 4.0+ on top. The OS has a nice feel. However, the UI is not quite responsive as you would expect. There is a slightly delayed response sometimes. .Same goes with multitasking, the UI lags occassionaly.

The device performs pretty good when it comes to the usual daily usage. Gaming experience was decent with Asphalt 8 running fine, though at highest video settings, it struggles.

Coming to the battery performance, the Desire 501 Dual SIM packs a 2100mAh battery which can last at least one day of normal usage.Though I personally felt that the phone takes a long time to reach full charge.

                                      PROS

                                      Beats audio

                                      Feels solid in hand

8GB in-built memory and card slot

                                      Both Cameras are surprisingly good

                                      Battery backup fares well

                                      CONS

                                      Slightly overpriced

                                      Battery takes time to charge

Graphics performance isn't up to mark

                                        Hi HTC 501 users,
Could u suggest me to choose among HTC desire 501 vs samsung s4 mini vs moto G. I like to have a good camera and good performance for multi tasking. how about screen visibility and battery.
