htc_victim, 26 Dec 2013I don’t know why I wasted my money on this phone. Even a basic service like wifi doesn’t work ... morePffft.... WIFI was working right after a full factory reset. One thing I've forgotten in the past when I have purchased brand new devices and trying to activate in my home is that I have my router set to ONLY accept devices that already have permission via wifi. My 1st clue after entering router's password on the phone is that NOTHING happens ie: nothing opens. Kind of my "oops" once in awhile but I have 39 devices for wireless permissions and once in awhile I forget to submit the MAC to the router in advance of entering the phone. Your issues with your Desire are probably your own fault since it worked flawlessly for me, right from the beginning
Hailey, 26 Dec 2013To the owners of desire 601, can u guys confirm whether it has nfc or not? Tia. A Merry Chr... moreHTC Desire 601 DOES have NFC. Easiest way to check for something like this in the future is to just search online for the question. I now own this phone, bought just one day ago and I can confirm it does have NFC anyway
Anonymous, 28 Dec 2013Good Wi-Fi speakers are decent and loud camera is good enough Bluetooth is easy to connect scr... moreNo kidding! I have a few smartphones and one in particular-LG Optimus G 32GB is probably worth twice as much or a bit more that the Desire 601 I just bought. HTC is improving it seems and has a slightly larger display than my wife's Raider, the Desire is lighter in weight, much thinner and compares to the others I mention elsewhere. HTC will sell lots of these and they just came out in October here in Canada.
AnonD-219578, 30 Dec 2013it doesn't have beats audio, so how is the audio quality on this phone???Beats?? Not a big selling point for a smartphone to begin with. I mention elsewhere of what other smartphones I own and most of them have rear-throwing speakers for output. The Desire comes at you from the front, in stereo and most of the time when I want to hear some tunes or the audio from a movie on the others, one has to cup the exterior speakers or place on a glass surface so it reflects off it. For the Desire I was surprised to hear the audio coming from the front of a phone's screen which is actually where the movie was playing from as well! I have external speakers for optional use but sometimes I just want to be able to use the speakers that came with a smartphone. Notice that far too many phones today proclaim to have this or that type of quality for audio but where are the speakers BUT on the back of the things of course.
AnonD-221790, 06 Jan 2014I love the phone but only the battery dont last too long.turn off wifi if not using it, delete or force stop any apps you don't need or use. Used this to play one really long game of Angry Birds, watched a video or two and the battery will hold a long charge. IS advice out there for users though, cell phone-smartphone batteries actually, need to be fully drained and charged for a few cycles to get 'em going properly. Doesn't matter if it's Li-Po or any other type, they need to be cycled and allowed to reach their peak charging capabilities. Try changing a lot of your options as well as turning off things you don't actually need. One example is if an app for weather is constantly updating the temp. for you, it's using your phone's resources. If you know it's cold out and there's snow outside your door and it's late at night, why do you need to have your smartphone telling you this every hour on the hour? It's somewhat of a joke but something I've told many friends who always complain about their phone's battery. the Desire has a 2100 mAh battery, old fliphones from yesteryear had 300-400 or so.

This was one reallllllyyyyyy long word LOL.
The great option of this 601 is that it is easy to get unlocked and does have the option for a micro sd card and has a replaceable battery
(Sorry, had to ignore the one word request now, the phone is a good choice for many...)
Dani, 09 Jan 2014Does anybody knows if this phone is fast to use? Is de reaction fast, and if you type is that ... moreFast phone. Awesome video for Netflix USA. No lag for game colors on Angry Birds etc. Bought it one day ago for $80 Canadian and since I own other smartphones like Galaxy i727r's, LG Optimus G quad-core, a Moto XT910 and an HTC Raider, the Desire 601 keeps up with all of the others. Price online seems to have come down from initial price when introduced and now stands at around $300 Canadian so for a 4.5" screen and a dual core, it's not too shabby. The Li-Po battery is what sold me on this one and it's removable (unlike my LG which has a sealed battery)
Does anybody knows if this phone is fast to use? Is de reaction fast, and if you type is that fast to or is it a bit stuck sometimes?
