Yes HTC DESIRE 816 do not have Gorilla/Corning display glass unit most of the HTC phones does not have G-Glasses, instead the self manufactured LCD TFT/ SUPER LCD display are utilised. The Super LCD and its versions are used in higher end mobile phones which also competes with Super AMOLED of samsung.
When i spoke to the HTC's customer care a difference was stated between Gorilla and super lcd ie] SUPER LCD IS "SCRATCH RESISTANT" AND GORILLA IS "SCRATCH PROOF".

Desire 816 might be available in june as HTC is still importing the desire 700 which falls in same price category with 816.

Yes it is worth the price, and it is cdma+gsm'/gsm+gsm active dual SIM phone ,front cam is 5 mp wide angle full hd, rear cam 13 mp full hd
