The battery life isn't given here. HTC's UK website (http://www.htc.com/uk/smartphones/htc-desire-816/)says:
Talk time: Up to 21 hours for 3G
Standby time: Up to 737 hours for 3G

I want this phone but only the power button placement will make it hard for my hand to reach

I think its cheaper because they compromised on Gorilla Glass Screen. I am afraid it might be not scratch resistant.

Called the HTC India customer care and confirmed the device will be available after 10th may. Also asked if the device supports nfc and he said it is supported...but I am not sure.
