the new flagship one (or two, whatever you want to call it) must have some very impressive specs to beat this. i don't think h&c would want their own midrange handset to outshine the flagship!

I'm actually very happy that they announced this device, but the only thing that bugs me is that it has 2600 mAh battery?

Come htc the phone is terrific!
The only thing that's holding me back is the low mAh battery. I guess I'll choose the one max :/

Kr, 24 Feb 2014Non removable battery.... Very bad. non removable battery is the company confidence and security to customers.when use non removable battery that means the gadget has no bad error or lag which to cause of battery removing.and other assurance is that battery will be safe and no problem for change it.

desire 816 is a midrange and 720p is enough.if increase ppi and resolution it needs more battery capacity and will increase the price.all midrange have maximum 720p and most of them have 960*540. it's good enough and excellent for midrange.some other fans judge out of prejudice and likes to spoil htc!!!! desire 816 is the best midrange ever made. viva htc.

I've got a Lumia 720, 217PPI, and it's just enough. Seriously, no one stares at their phone's screen 5mm away. If it's more than 200PPI, it's good. Over 300 is just ridiculous.

Yes i do agree on the fact that htc sense ui is very light , elegant, minimalistic, clean ui..and uses very less ram for functioning...thats why it performs better in less specs...this will outperform note 2 ..
