Memory problems are virtually wiped out when you upgrade this phone to Marsh mellow, android version 6.0. You will be able to use your SD card as internal storage and of course all those annoying memory low messages will be a thing of the past.

lack of storage and apps are not stored in external memory when i used 16 gb memory card it fail to use it only upto 8 gb is support

I had this phone for at least a couple of years and it has been very dependable. It still runs smoothly and the only reason I'm getting a new one is the storage. I can't update apps anymore due to the lack of storage space. I've cleared, deleted, removed, and moved everything possible, countless times, and I'm done. I have a 32gb SD card but app updates use internal phone storage so it's useless. I loved this phone, will miss the great speakers, but I'm sticking with HTC b/c I love the user interface. My neice had this same phone but her's was horrible but mine is in perfect shape! I'm happy with a phone that does what I need it to do and don't need the latest and greatest just because so I have saved hundreds of dollars over the years being patient. I'm getting an A9 at $149 ($500-600 original price) and getting 32gb internal storage! I waited for the price to go down on an HTC with big storage and the HTC One A9 was it. My 816 Desire will go to my daughter who uses less apps than I do. I've dropped this phone many times (with a case) and never cracked my screen! It's still pretty fast, and the camera is the best I've had so far. There is only one scratch from my keys on the screen but that's it. I enjoyed this phone as my first HTC and will stick with HTC for years to come.

If anyone has a problem with camera, the reason probably is that you dropped your phone and something inside moved. That happened to me. Next time I accidentaly dropped it, the camera was working perfectly.

For everyone whos camera doesn't work.
The reason may be if you have dropped it , something inside have moved.
That happened to me, and next I dropped it, camera was working perfectly.

Deepak, 01 Jul 2016My HTC Desire 816 camera not responding. Please anyone help me.it happened to me also because i dropped it on the floor accidentaly, and maybe for a month it wasnt woeking. next time i dropped it again accidentaly and camera starts working.
