The only measures you can prolong the battery life are the following:
1) Disable the Mobile Data
2) Disable the Background Data
3) Disable Wi-Fi
4) Disable 3G instead use GSM
5) Disable Bluetooth
6) Avoid using Live Wallpaper
7) Use the phone for calls and sending messages
8) Refrain from listening music - use your IPOD instead.
9) Refrain from surfing the net - use your IPAD, Laptop or Desktop Computer.
10)Refrain from watching videos - use your portable dvd player.
You will have to do these sacrifices in order to prolong the battery. Until such time HTC will announce its upgraded battery in the market. Though they are aware of the issue I believe they are working on it.
I'm not trying to be biased, I'm not working with HTC but I'm just trying to help everyone in here who needs some help.
This is a great phone far better than IPHONE. So far, I have no issues with the phone and it works perfectly on me.
Be happy ... Goodluck!

Hi All,
The battery life on the Desire HD is really terrible. I kept it turned off and charged for 24 hours when I first bought it as recommended but it is just terrible.
After just one on sitting n my work train using the Desire HD surfing websites like Facebook, GSMArena, checking my tweeter account, the battery was drained halfway. There is no way this device would last even half a day with the minimal use I had with it.
I'm taking it back to the shop and replacing it with a different model all together, I'd never go HTC again, what a let down. I don't see why either I should go out and buy bigger, better batteries, if HTC wanted it's consumers to have a very good experience from the get go, they'd give you the best in it's original packaging, don't you think.
Cheers
Craig

AnonD-763, 05 Feb 2011Dear, i bought mine from official HTC distributor in our region. I am from Middle EastI got the NA version and I have no issues. I think only ur region has issues. Check up on XDA Developers that site will help you out.
Good job HTC! Yesterday my DHD falled down to the floor from 1.2-1.4 m high. It still works great. There are some tiny marks on the phone, but nothing to worry about.
after testing for 18 days, this phone is good but the battery can last up to 2 hrs for heavy usage n 12 hrs for non-usage n 6 hrs for normal usage

Some applications can cause your handset to lag as they probably have some bug on it which hasn't been updated from the author itself.
Be careful ... Goodluck!
