Tried today both Desire HD and Galaxy S. Galaxy is like a cheap plastic, not bad, but don`t give me a feeling of holding a flagship phone. HTC is way better, solid, bit heavy, but ok. Another bad thing about Samsung is that it started to lag when I tried it.

halo. i am thinking of getting this beast. A lot of these beasts running the android os. Was thinking of getting the arc when it comes out on 02 but after seeing this I might just go get it on a cheap contract. Whats the battery life like? Will it be a better choice to wait for the arc or one of dem samsung phones coming out soon think its the s2. Suggestions would be highly appreciated, thank you!

Hi everyone,
i am getting this phone in next 2 days,gonna be my first android phone, i use windows mobile rite now.
my question is (1) application when we closed in android phones does it close completly or they run at the backround.(2) using task manager or killer effects the phone system or it just helps in shuting the app completly, is it required to use this applications.
Plz any1 who knws about this issues, help me out.

it does not kill app. but works according to ur usage.

Just keep using it. Apps that aren't active and doesn't show up in the statusbar aren't using the battery even though they might appear in the running apps list. There are task killers on Android Market but I would avoid those.

The battery is great with me. 3 days of normal use with wi-fi when needed & playing around...very happy with the device...

I have the follow questions: can I make video calling by Desire HD? Also what about the memory encluded -when I asked in some phonemarket (in China), they told me that this phone doesn't has a memory encluded?!

Hi all. Need your great help here. I just got my HDH yesterday. Battery life really cannot make it. It drain really fast. I open few applications and I exit one step at a time but the applications will be running still. May I know how to properly exit those applications and how to save the battery life? Kindly advice. Natural colors > sAMOLEDs oversaturated ones
4.3" > 4"
HSDPA 14mbps > HSDPA 7mbps
Camera flash > No flash at all
Working GPS > Flawed GPS
768MB RAM > 512MB RAM
Also, the camera is slightly better now after the update. So both phones has their pros and cons.
My friend has a Galaxy S while I have a Desire HD. Our friends with iPhones are impressed with the Desire HD while they think the Galaxy S is more like an iPhone wannabe.

Setting a song as a ringtone:
You can choose a song from the Music app’s library and set it as your phone’s ringtone or a ringtone for a certain contact.
1. From the Home screen, tap - Music.
2. Tap to go to the library.
3. In the library, choose the song that you want to use as ringtone and then play it back.
4. On the Now playing screen, press MENU and then tap More > Set as ringtone.
5. If you chose an MP3 song, you can trim it first and set the part that you trimmed as the ringtone.
6. In the Set as ringtone options menu, tap Phone ringtone or Contact ringtone. If you select Contact ringtone, you need to choose the contacts you want to associate the song with in the next screen.
