Had this phone as an upgrade yesterday. Only downside i have encountered is the reception - which has also been mentioned below. I am with vodafone and usually get full bars where i work in the city centre but I am lucky to get 2 with the desire HD. Changed the network to gsm only and still only getting 1bar! It might be a settings issue (hopefully) so will speak to vodafone later and post another comment.
question, 20 Oct 2010does anyone know if the desire hd can use the function of 2.2 of creating a wireless hotspot?yes the DHD can use it as hotsopt as HTC announce
This thing is HUGE. Nobody in his right mind will cover half of his face with this pancake while making a phone call ! Hilarious :-)

[deleted post]Thanks for the prompt reply! Though that is not such good news... But let´s wait for more reviews. The desire HD is delayed to 5/11 in Sweden anyways...
Anonymous, 19 Oct 2010So would you say that the 15hrs battery life from CNET´s review is plausible?YES! my findings so far 15 hours is plausible.

Don't expect a sound like the Iphones. It's almost the same as the HTC Legend i have: good but not loud.
Have this phone now for 5 days. It's a great phone but one thing sucks: battery life isn't great. Loading it now for the fourth time in 5 days (normal use of the phone). Secondly, the reception isn't the best. Vodafone is my provider and when i put my sim into my Legend i get all the dashes, when i change to the DHD i get at most 2 to 3 receivedashes and sometimes 1 or none! Never had that before with Vodafone or other phones. Are there any owners with the same receiveproblems? Please let me now. Thx Paul
I've used the Desire HD and it is a nice handset, may be a bit too big for most people and the screen quality does NOT have the edge like the Super AMOLED screens on the Samsung handsets. The pixel quality is ok but again does not have the vibrance and clarity of the S-AMOLED screens. Quick response and full of features that are now expected from high-end smartphones.
