Anonymous, 26 May 2011its sad that people in india cannot upgrade to 2.3Hey, gingerbread is available as an update in India,I got mine today,its a 200mb or ovr update n can b done ovr WiFi or data plan.. try goin to settings- about phone- software updates n check now.shud work..cheers..
this is a nice phone and it has got a fast processor and some good applications but the only thing that disappoint me is its battery life which seems not enough for this phone.... and also a i would include that if you want to xperiance this on well then you got to know the phone well and its apps...
can someone please give me the "india" map that was given on the sd card?
i have accidentally deleted it and i dont have wifi access so cant download it..and internet pass through doesn't work while downloading maps!
please help me guys!
m from north India , mine mobile was updated on 17 may maybe due to the reason that it was a UK peice without bill . anyway some of you might face the problem of internet pass-through while updating , I was unable to update through internet pass-through , so this is what I did
1. activate mobile internet
2. go to updating option
3 . start updating
4. connect internet pass through
5. u will be updated fast through it
and this is what new update have for us
1. quick settings in notification bar
2. improved speaker
REST SEE YOURSELF , :D
Finally 2.3(gingerbread) is here in India(Punjab). It is smooth icons and now u can change the text size of message box. otherwise main menu changes still xploring it...any one have it kindly share it !!!
Updating to 2.3.3 version completed now...
Everything is fine till now.. smooth.. :)
Received an alert for 2.3 version just now..
Downloading it now... :)

Guys Android 2.3 Update is now available for HTC Desire HD Indian users officially. I have updated it and checking it now as how its performing.

rahul, 26 May 2011i contact the HTC support team over email regarding Gingerbird update in India and this the re... moresorry guys.. i think the support team in India is not well aware of the updates.. i just got the update on my desire HD (still downloading :) )... that 11 am alaram was correct :)
