satnam, 20 Oct 2012was abt to buy desire x... But jst read abt one vx n found it more tempting.... So nw m a bit ... moreWell i think, One VX may never come to India. It is AT&T Specific model for now. Dnt wait for it unless you need a bigger screen. The Desire X is fine

I had gone for Samsung S duos since dual sim is a necessity for me. otherwise I might had gone towards Desire X.

satnam, 20 Oct 2012was abt to buy desire x... But jst read abt one vx n found it more tempting.... So nw m a bit ... moreThe One VX is an AT&T model. You'll need to get it out of the US and then face the hassle of unlocking it, which'll cost extra. Plus, judging by the specs, it's going to be closer to the One S than the mid-levellers.

here is my take on mid range dual core android phones
ie under 20000rs the phones available are
1>LG optimus 2X (2X)
2>Samsung Galaxy S Advance(SGA)
3>Sony Xperia Sola
4>HTC Desire X

According to the release date
1>lg 2X has dual core nvedia tegra 2 processor
since this phone was a flagship device in its heyday it comes with more bells & whistles (like HDMI port,8mp camera,1080p recording & playback) when compared to rest of the competition even though the processor is old it trashes samsung galaxy s2 in 3d graphics & gaming benchmarks according to samrtbench 2011games, it even has ips lcd which is found in high end phones like htc onex ,one x+,optimus 4X etc
this phone is a gamer's phone affordable the only draw back is its battery life

2> SGA is a good phone well built its performance is similar to that of 2X but looses out in gaming
department for normal casual usage this phone is no different than galaxy s2 the main draw back is its camera it has no zooming option otherwise it's a good phone

3>sony Xperia sola even this phone's performance is similar to SGA it has the same processor & chip set of SGA the main draw back is its subparr battery performance , no secondary camera & has ordinary s lcd display which is not bright or colorful enough

4>HTC desire x it is the new phone & the most expensive ofem all it is very well built houses a new
snapdragon s4 processor
But it lacks many features no secondary camera. No hd video recording this is because of old chipset & old gpu. even this phone has ordinary s lcd display & has the least performance ofem all

so if i want to select from these phones i would select SGA or 2X (mainly SGA it has better battery)

Finally... I decided to go with this and got Desire in hand today. Here are preferences.
1. Should have good music player and Music Playing capability.
2. Should have decent camera If not outstanding for occasional my photography.
3. Should have decent call Quality
4. Should get at least ICS out of the box.
5. Should have decent battery Life
6. Should be a 3.7 inch to 4 inch display
7. Flash player Support is preferable.
8. And Above all, the price in India Should be less than 20K

I did a lot of research and read lot of reviews. Finally Short listed
1. Galaxy S Advance
2. Desire X
3. S3 Mini

I decided not to wait for S3 mini since the price would be high (Around 25K) on launch and should wait at least until next Feb for the price to get dropped. And that is the Only reason I dropped S3 Mini.

I dropped S Advance because of the Ginger bread, not so good camera, the low quality back cover and head phone jack at bottom.

How ever, I was not interested in front camera much because I am not going to make videos call with phones, neither interested in video recording and 480P capability is good enough in case I need something urgent. So decided to go with Desire X though lack of gorilla glass was a concerns.

The Desire X experience so far for the lat 6 hours have been fantastic. Fluid performance and great looks. Wonderful on screen keyboard, neat browser with flash support and flawless performance. So far So good. Noticed, a bit of heating up at times, why and hoe, I Will sort out and update later. The call quality is fantastic, so the Music player. The back cover is bit of a concerns, but not surely as much as SGSA back cover. The screen and the viewing angles are excellent. Will update on the battery life and rest of the things may be after a week. So that is my first hands own experience.

We - the midrange users - think, we will do so many things with the phone. Infact what we do is, telephony, Music, occational browsing and photography. So make sure the basic needs are covered.

This is Definitely a good quality phone along with one Major drawback... whenever you are playing a Game or using high graphic application, then this phone heats a lot...!! Except this other things are really good, Battery life is awesome. processor speed is very good. but price should be 15K and not more than that...

Ok, picked up this phone and big deal that there is no compass or seconday front facing camera! I don't use either, I don't do video chat and I certainly don't go orientating myself with a compass. The phone has GPS and it works a charm with google navigation. I am finding the battery life to be really good - better than iphone. 4GB internal space is really only 1GB usuable. But that doesnt bother me because I have installed a ton of apps and quite frankly I have half a GB free still of internal space. I have a 32 GB micro SD card where I have installed a number of movies, and thousands of songs. The phone doesnt feel slow at all even with all this media and heaps of apps installed. The call quality is perfect and the pictures and video are awesome too. Wireless range is great as well. People need to keep in mind that when they compare products they need to compare items of equivalent price as well. This is a medium level phone, it was never designed to be competing against the Samsung Galaxy 3 or any other high powered device, but I can tell you now from first hand experience, this devices offers much more value than anything else on the market at a similar price.

10/10
