Anonymous, 14 Nov 2010this is my dreamed phone. lol, sigh* really expensive!!!I got it for 55 Canadian dollars :-P
the dedicated keys in the front are braindead, i would feel like a prettyboy who knows what google is. "hey chaps, let me press my fashionly correct dedicated google button on my gay looking celfone".
y cant anyone make an android fone that has the beauty and discrete privacy of the N900's front panel? Smooth and anonymous. Well, looks like froyo cant match the flash support of N900 in real life anyway, only on paper, so i guess it doesnt matter. I say that coz i tried samsung i9000 galaxy S wit froyo, not impressed after failing to display flash content other than videos and flash ads that we all hate anyway, hope its only samsungs usual crappy implementation, maybe other froyo r better?
Love this phone. I've been a Blackberry user for the past few years. Before Blackberry I had a whole bunch of different Windows Mobile devices from HP and HTC. I've been a cell phone user since 1995. This device blows everything else out of the water. Get it and forget it.
its ma dream phone but the cost is nightmarish!! price is on average between $500 and $800 US dollars. it prob would be best to buy a netbook and load up skype or majic jack for calls on it o_0
Ive had it from carfone for the weekend and its going back tommorow based on these things,,,,
Por video recording,
No matter what people say the screen is awful outdoors
Altho gsmarena give loudspeaker a good score its typical htc and listening to podcast is awful, yes its loud but tonal quality is htc to a tee,
Using top keys on keypad thingy is awkward for me using top row and hinge is soso i dont think it will break.
There is no direction keys on keypad, now people may not bother but with no d-pad i rely on 4 direction keys for accurate text input, simple as that.
Weight was not an issue it feels nicer when fones are heavy anyhow cannot complain after using E90 ..
The above is my observations but i have dismissed Desire Z for poor video record which i do use and reflective screen and bad speaker quality.
I dont think htc have an excuse for keypad cause they must know by now that typing in the top row your thumbs push against the lower ledge of top part of fone..Some may say use onscreen qwerty but i wont that why i bought it to use a real qwerty keys..When i was in carfone i did trty dummy model but thought "oh well" and thought i could get round it but with other complaints and £400 prepay i cant live with it.
I think as of now i will get desire HD swap but still htc quality speakers and camera and low battery for that big screen..

Dunno why gsmarena likes the keyboard. The 'Z' design makes it cramped and hard to use. I much prefer the samsung keyboard. Problem with the samsung phones tho is that the build quality is shit.
this is my dreamed phone. lol, sigh* really expensive!!!
How is the speaker & battery? Please reply asap so that i can order one maybe
frm the specs it really seems 1 of the bst phones.

Saurav, 13 Nov 2010I read the gsmarena review and they said that the S-LCD screen of this device is better than n... moreamoled is currently holding on to the title for the best screen for phones. the colors and contrast are unmatched by other lcd screens. they have the best sunlight legibility too.
you wrote about the negatives of image quality so what about the positives............otherwise great review........
I read the gsmarena review and they said that the S-LCD screen of this device is better than normal LCD's of Desire HD but no match to S-AMOLED or Retina's. Now elsewhere it has been said that S-LCD is more colorful and contrast in even better than S-AMOLED. So I am asking to the users, who already used a S-AMOLED screen, How do you like the screen? Is it better than S-AMOLED or as gsmarena said no match to it?
Please reply ASAP, I am planning to buy this device, just waiting to get confirm about the screen.
Regards.
u should change the title because it's kinda with the Viv A-Z

Can someone tell me if the hinge is loose?
I heard that it's loo... moreJust got it and yes, if you rotate it upside down the hinge can wobble out a bit. They could have made the mechanism a bit stiffer but it still feels solid.
how come its heavier than Desire HD ???
It doesn't have an aluminum unibody casing. Just bought it yesterday. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just this statement is not true. The darker parts (most of the body) are "soft touch" plastic and the lighter parts (LCD frame and battery cover) are aluminium. So metal is rather an addition than main construction material of the body exterior.
Yes it will work with AT&T's 3G. The confirm it in this review - http://pocketnow.com/android/htc-desire-z-with-att-3g-software-review-video
