HTC EVO 3D up for pre-order in the UK, costs £499.99

HTC Android Touch UI

The HTC EVO 3D will be released in the beginning of September and you can pre-order yours now in the UK. The available offers include both a sim-free handset, as well as carrier subsidized ones with T-Mobile and Vodafone.

Currently, you can pre-order one with Play.com for £499.99 commitment-free. In the same time, MobilePhonesDirect.co.uk offer one for free on T-Mobile with a £33.50 contract. You can also get it on Vodafone for 5 quid with a £35.74 contract.

If you opt to get the EVO 3D with a contract (T-Mobile or Vodafone UK), you will be in for a 59 days wait, which adds up to launch in late September. Play.com, however, promises a release date of September 5th.

Vodafone UK offers the EVO 3D free of charge on a two-year contract for £33.50. For that price you get 500 free minutes, 500MB data and unlimited texts. T-Mobile's offer is a bit steeper - the EVO 3D will cost you 5 quid on a £35.74 a month two-year contract but you'll get twice the minutes (1200). Play.com seems to offer the best deal for those unwilling to sign a contract - £499.99 SIM-free with free shipping and supposedly the earliest delivery.

The EVO 3D is the sole competitor to LG's Optimus 3D so far on the handheld 3D market. It offers a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1 gig worth of RAM, 540x960 (qHD) 4.3" display, dual 5MP cameras and the greatly customized HTC Sense UI 3.0. Of course, there's always the possibility that Samsung will join in on the game a bit later this tear.
