Who is still using CDMA? Its absolutely dead! Providers all over the world are dumping it, Canada's two CDMA providers have gone 3 GSM, Korea, Japan, Latin America, Australia, everyone is opting for 3GSM/UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+.

Sprint is the ONLY company to go 3GPP2 (Qualcomm CDMA's group) and take up WiMax as their 4G route. I mean that is dumb, considering even Qualcomm abandoned it and Sprint is the only major provider in the world to go WiMax (which has been around for at least 7 years here in Canada as a mobile internet... which sucked).

                  I like the specs totally.
I request HTC to pl launch a GSM model for this Mobile ASAP.
Its not a big deal for HTC to make a GSM model of this mobile.
It is the most powerful phone on the planet.
                  GSM is a must.
And GSM will make this Mobile Brilliant.
Pl make it GSM, I will be happy even to pay more for GSM.
Just can't get my hands get on it.
Hope HTC does that for a client like me.

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2010what is the meaning of that it is not a GSM phone ? It means it doesn't use the regular SIM cards that most networks around the world use. It uses CDMA technology via sprint to get its signal. Far superior Internet speeds and coverage, but unfortunately, only for the Sprint network.

No this isn't a GSM based phone, its a CDMA type. It's by far one of the best devices I've ever gotten to handle. I hate Sprint with a passion so I'll never own on but my brother just got this thing. It is awesome. To have a wi-fi hotspot in your pocket at all times, that is fully functional, stable, and pretty quick, it just unreal. The screen is pretty big and, it's by no means a small device. I really think the only thing that is in this things leauge is that new Droid X, but that's a CDMA phone too, though Verizon Wireless, so I probably won't ever have one of those either. This things only draw back is the carrier, Sprint is the worst provider in the world, I used to have them years ago. If you can get past that, this phone is definatly an amazing peice of tech.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2010CDMA??? Thats outdated technology how can it use cdma?CDMA is not an outdated technology. CDMA is cheaper to deploy and offers 3G for cheaper, and is standard in almost all phones (up to 3.1Mbps). Plus you can only use CDMA phones on their network, sold by the operator. This way all features work properly and you cant use your incompatable phone.
