shitty phone, the mic stopped working no more warranty? what do i do now? trow it in the trash more likely
Cloze, 20 Jan 2011Thinking of buying this as a used phone, any thoughts? It's a year old but isn't it still one ... moreIt will most likely get 2.3 before other phones like Desire. It was the first phone to get Froyo when i had it.
I had it, i sold it.. But not because i hated it, i adored this phone. But the obsessive hunt for better battery life became a terrible habit, i had a new ROM every week and a different Kernel every day.
It is an excellent phone. Solid built and heavy (heavy means good) Trackball was redundant most of the time but needed when rooting, i simply loved the design of this phone. Excellent CPU speed but the scroll on stock launcher was abit sluggish.
Battery on stock ROM was decent but much better when rooted to other ROM's. This phone might be a flop on the commercial sales but a giant success with tech-geeks. Had an amazing community on XDA with loads of userbuilt ROM's and other features.
I can't see people sell this for the Nexus S which is a hunk of plastic with little improvements on speed and features.
N1 rules. Gonna buy one cheap in the future when it is outdated just for keeping one. Great phone.

Software update v2.2.2 is out for Nexus One
Thinking of buying this as a used phone, any thoughts? It's a year old but isn't it still one of the best phone around? Can it be upgraded to 2.3? Thanks in advance!
For those of you complaining about the battery life on the nexus one and the camera. Well, you guys should try this.
1- First of all Root your phone, Cyanogen has a good Wiki that can be quite helpful. google it.
2- Install the ROM you enjoy the most. I recommend Enom's Micromod V2.3
3- Install the battery hack. It's basically a kernel modification in which the voltage supplied by the battery to the processor is lowered to 900mv and the processor is overclocked to 1228MHZ.
I recommend the following kernel. I dont remember the site or the developer's name, but google the file name and you should find it. search for 2.6.35_SVS-900mv_CFS_AXI_720p_1228MHZ_081910.zip
Kernel is working fine on my nexus. I'm having no problems at all. And i'm enjoying a VERY nice battery life. Actually it's better than my blackberry now! 21H 28m 51s since unplugged and still have 52% of battery life. And I can say that i've been playing lots of games and i have a live wallpaper running in the background. So imagine...
4- Enjoy a 720p camera and a VERY LONG battery life

Did you get a reply to you question about recording voice conversations?
If you did, would you please let me know which app does that, cuz I'm interested too...(firstname.lastname@example.org)
I found an app, called Call Recorder (go figure ... LoL), but it only records your voice, the guy on the other end is not recorded, so it's useless.
But if someone replied to you with an app that does that, would you pleaser let me know, bud? Thx

You can upgrade, downgrade or just leave it as is, especially the Nexus One, my friend ... You can jump from Eclair (2.1) to Gingerbread (2.3) and back to Froyo (2.2) ....
It's the best phone I ever owned (and I owned tons of phones)... :)
Is there's a way to record a voice conversation in Nexus One? If there is, kindly give me the step by step procedures.
Anyone tried nexus one on bechmark test? How is results??? Thanx in advance

Although if you do decide to switch anyway the N1 is still brilliant even now that its a year old, and that age nearly stopped me from buying it.
