[deleted post]no one can give advice, if no one knows what are your hardware and software needs. or what is important to you. a pocket PC or a media device?
Niki, 28 Nov 2010Hey Anthony..
Am from India, bought an HTC HD2 recently. But what i find is battery back up is... moreThere is NOTHING you can do that will give you days of ACTIVE use on this phone without any charging.
Phones like the Motorola C115 could go for days and not need charging.
But the reason for that is, it did almost nothing other than make phone calls. From a pixel count point of view the screen is 62 times smaller, no colour and had no capacitive tech using power as long as the screen is on.
The point I’m trying to make is... don’t expect any phone that does real multitasking, has more the 2 wireless radios that can function at the same time and a user input that needs power just for you to see it, to have the same battery life as a phone that dose allot less things, that use power.
But there are ways to do some battery “power pinching”
1. Update your ROM to 3.14 (it makes the CPU more energy efficient.)
2. In “backlight settings” turn off automatically adjust backlight and just set it down to 10% or set “Dim backlight” to 30 sec
3. Set the sleep time for your screen to the smallest.
4. Go to “Data services” and switch off everything under “utilities” (you will have to manually update when you need updates but it will save power.)
5. If you don’t use any of the location services, turn it off.
6. Turn off wi-fi and Bluetooth when you are not using them. (Having them on, burns about the same amount of power as a phone call.)
7. Do not set emails to auto download. (Every time the phone does a check it has to turn on your edge or 3G and that uses power.) Manually check for new mail.
8.Install “XT Hack Beta2” use it to turn off 3G if you don’t have a 3G sim. Turn on “Optimized battery life”
You may not be able to do all because of how you use your phone. (i know i can’t) but ever little bit you do helps.
Anthony, 27 Nov 2010what method did you use to flash the 405?used HSPL2 to flash HSPL 2.08 then i downgraded to OEM SPL 1.66 and stock 405 rom
Am from India, bought an HTC HD2 recently. But what i find is battery back up is really bad. Just stays for 5 to 6 hrs @ max. Later on i tried to change the OS version and now changed from 6.x to 5.x. Now its bit improved, still bad.
Will u pls advice me on this to get a fix....
Rinzy, 28 Nov 2010yes, i disabled it and its working. thank you very much anthony. you are a genius!!! You’re welcome,
Not genius, just a user of winmo for a long time now. So I have seen most problems one time or the other. The HD2 was not my first win mo phone. But it shore is the best :-)
You had to turn off high speed connection because the USB port you were connected to did not have the power to push that new speed standard. This is common in laptops, front USB ports on desktop PC and old PCs that use the USB 1.1 standered.
Rinzy, 28 Nov 2010No. I did not flash (What is Flashing and how do I flash a ROM). corrections
do you know how to disable
"Enable faster data synchronization" on the phone?
Rinzy, 28 Nov 2010No. I did not flash (What is Flashing and how do I flash a ROM). do you know how to

jeff, 27 Nov 2010Hi i want good looking phone having comparetivly good battery must have secondary camera for v... moreIf you going to use “face time” then the iphone battery is not going to be any better than the HD2.
If the main reason you want that second cam is for video call, you should know that only “face time” will let you do video calls on an iphone4. (Programs like skype only let you do voice calls on the iphone) this means that the person that you want to video call will need an iPhone4 as well. And those calls can only be done when both of you are connected to a Wi-Fi connection. (A nokia or the first htc touch HD would do a better job. it can make real video call over 3G if you service provider has the option and skype on some nokia models do video calls)
I don’t know what you call “GOOD app” because you never answered my question of what you use your HD2 to do, or what you wanted it to do that it could not or what you plan to do on an iphone. (so how am i to know what programs you need and if the HD2 or the Iphone has a program that can do it?)
You gave absolutely no detail why you need a smart phone. So i can’t say if the iphone is a upgrade for you.
All i could say with the info you gave is.... go buy it. Then after using it for 2 months and the “i have a new device” novelty has gone. Please come back and tell us if you made the right choice or if it was a mistake.
Anthony, 22 Nov 2010There is no “whatsapp” for windows mobile. If you really want it that bad on your HD2 you are ... moreHi Anthony:)
What do you mean by dual boot? Can we have android and Windows mobile? Or we have to choose between one of them? If just one of them, And how can we remove Windows Mobile from my HTC and replace it with Android?
