You must have a defective main board. You are going to have to send it in to HTC for them to replace the main board. If you bought it new, something like this is covered under warranty. And as you did not put on HSPL, nothing I did with you has voided that warranty.

After update Success, i took out the battery and restarted it. but still it doesn't start without power connection and doesn't finish booting and keeps on rebooting.
is there anything else i need to do?
Shokaman, 20 Oct 2010Yes, i have card reader in my pc. 1. Use winzip or 7-zip or any extracting program to extract the files out of the ROM you downloaded.
2. find the file RUU_signed.nbh and rename it leoimg.nbh
3. Copy that renamed file to your SD and put it back in your phone.
4. Do the volume down key things again. This time as soon as you see the color band let go of the volume.
5. You should then go to a gray loading screen and after a gray screen with instructions.
6. Follow the instructions.
7. When it is completed it will say “successful”. You have to take the battery out to get the phone to restart.
Anthony, 20 Oct 2010do you have a card readr on your PC? you need to get a file directly on to the SD card.Yes, i have card reader in my pc.

if that text is not coming up saying Serial or USB in the white band, you going to have to do it the other way.

Will try your suggestions and repeort back.
PS. Sorry, forgot username in last post.
Kind regerds,
[deleted post]I’m shore your phone has the wrong ROM on it now.
That is why it is reboot all the time.
The file your S/N let you download is the same ROM that was made for my version of the phone. And my phone is a factory unlocked UK HTC HD2, not a T-Mobile HD2.
You can’t get your phone to boot up so you can’t install the ROM the normal way.
I will have to show you a next way to get the ROM on.
There are two ways you can try but go with this one first.
This is what you have to do…
1. Connect the phone to the PC using the USB cable.
2. hold the volume down key and power on the phone.
3. when you get the 4 color bands on the phone screen. You should see “USB” written in the last band. (if you see “serial” disconnect the phone from the PC and reconnect it again.)
4. the file you downloaded is a “exe” file (do not change the name or extract anything from it) just run the file like you are installing it on your PC, with the phone connected and saying USB.
If this works let me know.
If it dose not work, give me details of what you did and what happened.
Anthony, 20 Oct 2010every thing is looking good. did you get the ROM downloaded using your S/N? if you did, what... moreAnd yes, i downloaded it using the S/N on the phone.
Jack, 19 Oct 2010Sorry didnt read crefully, you need Radio version 2.08 and up to use Android on your HD2.Jack - forgot to ask earlier, do all the basic feature on your wife's HD2 still run in Froyo - ie camera, phone, text messaging, etc. as I read many notice differing flaws with each and (almost) every HD2/Android set-up they've try out.
[deleted post]Skype mobile dose not support video chat.
It dose not matter what cell phone you have.
Lynn, 19 Oct 2010You didnt get me as you suggested to me to do hard reset my ROM to get rid of my signal proble... moreLynn
If you have already factory reset the phone.
I can go through cleaning up the storage part of the ROM and changing settings with you.
1 at a time, if you like.
Just let me know.
Jack, 19 Oct 2010Sorry didnt read crefully, you need Radio version 2.08 and up to use Android on your HD2.Ta for the advice, Jack.
Just to be sure, is your wife's phone using a stock o2 ROM like mine? If so, am I right in presuming you had to add a HSPL to enable you to upgrade the radio ROM? If so, how do you "flash" a radio ROM to the phone or where do I go to find a straightforward guide to all this - as XDA gives lots of advice, but it's all over the shop and is somewhat conflicting
:-/
Soz to be a bit of a duffer, but I'm a bit of a noob and am being extra careful to avoid bricking my beloved HD2, especially when I have 7 months left on my £35pm contract (!) and I've looked all round the internet and there is so much good advice available, but not one person seems to agree which ROM/radio/HSPL/android build would suit someone with a commonplace locked handset like mine.
Shokaman, 20 Oct 2010Hi Anthony, I have just finished the download. About the Power button, I used it, while connec... moreevery thing is looking good.
did you get the ROM downloaded using your S/N?
if you did, what is the name of the file you got?
Anonymous, 20 Oct 2010Hello Anthony,
I’m still having a problem disabling Data Connection. It will still connect... moreWhat gives you the E or G in the task bar is GPRS
You should set it like this…
WAP off
MMS on
GPRS off
Active Data connections (Disconnect Only) Off
Or depending on your service provide.
WAP on
MMS on
GPRS off
Active Data connections (Disconnect Only) Off
Will be enough do the trick.
Note: if you switch SIMs in the phone to a different provider, when the phone auto setup the data settings, the settings in “data controller” will all go back to “ON” so remember to set them again.
