Well I've been using the New Sense HD UI on my HD2 for about a week now... I must say it's very nice, but still not as mature as WM... Right now I will stay with WM6.5 (don't care for WP7 at this point. That can change when the second WP7 devices land in 2011)... Don't get me wrong. I like Android, but it still has a ways to go... I think Android has future ahead of it (maybe a year or two from now I will venture into Android)..
The things I like about Android:
1.) Animated Wallpapers
2.) The pinch to get to whatever screen you want
3.) Android Market place
Things I don't like:
1.) Battery drain (this is a key for me. Needs work)
Overall I like Android.. Will continue to us WM and Android on my HD2, util a phone comes out that makes me say WOW, I gotta have this phone...... Until then I will KEEP my HD2 (LOVE IT).....

What do you think of Spb Shell 5 being released for OEM's only right now??? Some report that they don't know if consumers will get it??? If that's the case Spb is making a big mistake.... They need to release to public... With CHT v2, it almost seem that Spb Shell is not needed??? I would try it if it's released, but am very happy with CHT v2 (all CHT needs is more add-ons).....
Question... Would you buy Spb Shell 5?????
Syrus, 05 Oct 2010I know what u are saying…..if u run android on hd2…it becomes android phone. At the time when ... moreIf you are talking about materials then, OK.
If you are talking about style / design then, OK
But Material used and build quality may not be the same thing. Two different model phones can have the same materials, yet one can have bad build quality. So you need to be clear in what you say.
My Fan Boy comment was me asking “Anonymous / Iabx” a question, unless that was you. lol.
High Tech, 04 Oct 2010Lets be clear on ONE thing here... People are saying Android cannot run totally on an HD2 devi... moreI know what u are saying…..if u run android on hd2…it becomes android phone. At the time when I tried android on my hd2….it was buggy. May be they sorted out those bugs by now and still exists. But wat I am trying to say is ….running android on hd2 is like trying out android without buying another handset. Suppose you wanna buy android but not sure how it looks like….its good to have on hd2 & try for few days and you can decide. But day to day life….going around with 2 OS is simply not practical. You gotta stick to one.
@Anthony: U misunderstood me. I am talking about material used to build iphone4. its really top notch. As for signal, proximity things…I've been playing around my fren's iphone4. There is no such problem. I think this problem with US At&t and media blew it out of proportion. Anyway there's no need to be of fan boy thing. I'd love to be one if htc, apple, samsung…..one of them pay me…lol. If sth is good you gotta admit it is good. There are certain thing I also do not like about iphone…otherwise I'd have bought a long ago. Win7 is coming next week. Lets see.
Syrus, 02 Oct 2010For testing or just to kill your cuirosity….its ok to try on HD2. But fully use android on hd2... moreLets be clear on ONE thing here... People are saying Android cannot run totally on an HD2 device... Android can run very, very, well on the HD2...
If HTC just released a hardware only phone (no OS on board), what would you call it??? An Android phone??? A Windows phone??? Neither... You can only call it an Android phone if the hardware phone was loaded with the Android OS... You can call it a Windows phone if the phone was loaded with the Windows OS....
When you load an Android ROM from Xda and install the software you now changed your phone to Android.. Only a few things are not working (camera and ereader)... Once fixed by the wonderful Xda dev, you will have a fully functional Android HD2 device.
When boot back to Windows, you now have a fully functional Windows HD2 device... The OS makes the phone either Win or Android... Not the hardware... What a phone will be depends on HTC, Samsung, Sony, etc...... Hardware is hardware..............
Anthony, 04 Oct 2010It's not the real WP7 and I have not tried it my self as yet. but one of you may want to try ... moreI tried it a few min ago... It's okay... It's just a skin for your HD2 giving you the WP7 look if you like... From messing with it a bit, you can change the tile colors and set the pricture hub to chage pictures... Don't know if the contacts tab chages contacts??? Haven't tried to change that... Got kinda busy... It's not bad for a first START of the app... It looks nice on the HD2.. I installed to my SD Card and it runs really fast from there... It didn't cause any problems with my current setup (Omega v14 and New Sense HD Android rom)....
Syrus, 02 Oct 2010Its good that both works great for you……….but not for me. And still do not believe android is ... moreYou are really making a lot of untrue statements and the weak minded may mistaken your boldness for a fact.
I sincerely believe you haven't tried Sense HD Rom - an absolute beauty! Because if you had, we would be muted on much of your untrue pronouncements. And to think that Sense HD Rom is still on beta stage for the HD2 and still this GREAT, leaves me in no doubt about the wonders in it.
No OS is perfect. But stop confusing readers that HD2 can't run Android on a daily use bases as smoothly as the default WM - because Sense HD Rom is a blazing fire on HD2.
Remember we all started with the default WM in HD2. So what are you gonna tell me about it that I don't already know?
Dax, 03 Oct 2010I will be getting my unlocked T-mobile HD2 soon and will be using that in India. I am much int... moreHere's the steps I used:
1.) First you have To unlock phone using HSPL2 or 3 (you can get that from Xda or do google search), and just follow the steps... Now this will void your warnt.....
2.) If your ROM version is below 2.08.. Mine was v1.42. Android only works on v2.0 and above... If your ROM version is above v2 your fine. If not you will need an Android friendly ROM.. I'm using Omega V14... The ROMs you can get from Xda as well (just depends on what you want in a ROM).. To load ROM's just follow the steps on Xda to install new ROM... The steps will be with the "How to HSPL your phone".
3.) Then the third step is to find a Android ROM (look in the Android thread for ROM) you want to try from Xda (follow the steps the developer says to do when installing). The Android ROM will install on your SD Card only, and run from there...
4.) The final step is to go to Xda and find the boot file you want to use (look in the Android thread and you will find lots of boot cabs to use)... Istall the cab and your set... Upon reboot you then be asked what OS you want to run Win or Android...
It's not the real WP7 and I have not tried it my self as yet.
but one of you may want to try it, so here you go.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010Yes sure, sometimes,Love is blind.. Don’t get it twisted. The love is not for Android.
The luv is about being able to TRY new things without having to buy a new phone every time.
No one said because you have a HD2, you have to put android on it. If it’s an android phone you want, then buy an android phone. But if you are a WinMo user that is open minded to try a next OS, then the option is there without having to get a new phone.
Do you think because the Android OS is on the phone that you can’t still use the winmo OS on it as well?
Do you think that the people that use Android on this phone have no use for the WinMo OS at all, after they install Android?
Or is it that you think some one can be a winmo fan boy but hate winmo at the same time, so they just buy the phone to put Android on it?
Please let us know how stupid/blind you think a person that tries HSPL, jailbreaking or rooting there phone really are.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010In this thread alone i read over 100 times the following phrase beeing mentioned conserning An... moreThat’s because android version change very often and users here like to try the latest one. Some times even before the phone it was made for has launched. If you don’t like testing incomplete software you just have to stick with the Original ROM or use a older Android version. The thing about it is…. YOU HAVE THE CHOICE TO DO WHAT EVER YOU LIKE! I'm sure you read that in here 100 times as well.
High Tech, 02 Oct 2010Your statement on both OS us is lame... They both work very well on the HD2... Matter of fact ... moreWill be getting my HD2 in 2days.
Will be glad if you can put me through on how to run both Android and WM on HD2.
Good job guys.
In this thread alone i read over 100 times the following phrase beeing mentioned conserning Android.
(I am sure it will be fixed in time) or was it soon...??
